Chapter 147 Extra : Dreams Come True

The father and son squatted at the door and finished smoking a cigarette. Before they reached the kitchen, they heard crying from inside. They ran in quickly and were shocked by the scene in front of them.

Without further ado, the old ones coaxed the old ones, and the young ones coaxed the young ones.

Father Chen wiped his wife’s face with a towel and sighed, “A few years ago, we wanted to match our son with Li Lili. On the first day of the new year, we found them sleeping in the same room. We didn’t believe our son and thought something had happened with him. He felt bad and wanted to jump off the building after drinking too much when he returned to China. You haven’t forgotten this, right? Last year, he had a car accident and it took him a long time to recover. Even the experts said he was lucky to have survived.”

“Do you know what it means to survive? It means that he was supposed to go with the King of Hell, but he came back. If he hadn’t come back then, we would have no son. Ai, it wasn’t easy for him to come this far. He relies on himself. We shouldn’t force him anymore. He made his own choices in life, and he will have to bear the consequences in the future, whether it’s good or bad.”

Mother Chen cried again, “When did I force him?”

“It was me. I forced him to do it. We only have one life to live, so why not be happy? Don’t you think so?”

Father Chen went to the door with his hands behind his back to listen to what was going on outside. There was no noise. He breathed a sigh of relief, “That kid Huang Dan’s qualities make him a perfect match for our son.”

Mother Chen blew her nose, “I didn’t say he wasn’t worthy!”

Father Chen expressed his gratitude and praised his wife, “Yes, yes, you are very rational in this matter. As a person who dreams of having a grandson, it is already remarkable that you can do this.”

Mother Chen felt better. She wiped her face until it turned red. “I didn’t say a harsh word, nor did I make things difficult for him.”

“I know, and my son knows it too. If you wanted to make things difficult for him, you wouldn’t have gotten up early to prepare breakfast for him, and you wouldn’t have peeked at him on the table many times.”

Father Chen said, “There is something I just found out. Our son has been in love with Huang Dan for more than ten years. Huang Dan was not interested in him. They only officially got together at a class reunion some time ago. If he could give up, he would have given up long ago.”

Mother Chen threw away the towel and felt unhappy, “No, why does my son tell you everything first and not me?”

Father Chen said, “He and I are both men, so it’s easier for us to talk.”

Mother Chen said angrily, “If I find out that you two are doing something behind my back……”

Father Chen interrupted her, “That’s not the case.”

Mother Chen sniffed, her eyes were red, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes and the loose bags under her eyes were silently telling that time is not forgiving, and her beautiful appearance was only a blur, “I think both of them have very good qualities, successful careers, and good looks. No matter where they stand, they can attract the attention of young girls, and there are plenty of opportunities for selection.”

Father Chen said, “Let’s be open-minded. This is God’s will. Huang Dan and we are destined to become a family.”

The comfort work on the other side was also going very smoothly.

Chen Yue grabbed Huang Dan’s hand and pressed it against his face, “My mom asked you those questions because she hopes the person I’m looking for will take me to heart. She wants the best for me.”

Huang Dan said, “I understand.”

Chen Yue’s eyes were filled with a gentle smile, “My mom is overthinking. As long as it’s you, I will definitely get better, and I will get better and better all the time.”

Huang Dan said, “She remembers those things, which means she cares about you.”

Chen Yue pursed his thin lips and said, “I’m the only one in the family, and they all care about me. Back then, my dad had problems at work, so I dropped out of school and started working. I lived a hard life for many years, and just when I was getting better, something happened again. They felt sorry for me.”

He suddenly said, “Wait for me.”

After saying that, Chen Yue went to his parents’ place. After communicating with them, he made sure that nothing was wrong and called Huang Dan to go out for a walk.

Not long after, Huang Dan and Chen Yue appeared in the town.

The temperature in the afternoon was a little higher than in the morning and evening. There was a faint fragrance of flowers floating in the alley. Local men, women, old and young were walking around with leisurely expressions on their faces.

Chen Yue passed by a flower shop and went in to buy a flower for Huang Dan. “Every time I come here, I rarely go out. People in the town know of my existence, but they are not familiar with me.”

Huang Dan lowered his head and smelled the flowers in his hand, “Every household here has fresh flowers in front of their doors.”

“The locals have a great sense of fun and are very romantic. After my parents came here, they followed the local customs and planted flowers and plants, raised fish and birds, and asked me to buy them a lot of books on those subjects.”

Chen Yue gave way to a young man holding a child, “My dad has a good relationship with the neighbors, and he got a lot of flower seeds. Only a small part of them are in the yard, and the rest are scattered in the garden by me. If I go back now, some of them are in full bloom.”

Huang Dan looked back.

Chen Yue took his hand, “What are you looking at?”

Huang Dan said, “If you don’t like me, your child can walk on the ground now.”

Chen Yue couldn’t help laughing, “Mrs. Chen, our teacher taught us that we should always proceed from reality when dealing with people and things. Assumptions are not valid and meaningless.”

Huang Dan touched a petal with one hand and said nothing.

Chen Yue bent down and put his face under his gaze, “Why, you look so melancholy, don’t you want to break off a petal and say in your heart, ‘He loves me’, and then break another one and say, ‘He doesn’t love me’?”

Huang Dan, “……”

Chen Yue said that this kind of thing doesn’t work, “I’ve played it many times, and the last part was always ‘You don’t like me’.”

Huang Dan said, “At that time, you were comforting yourself that it was fake while breaking off the petals?”

Chen Yue’s ears turned red, and he said confidently, “Why? It’s not possible?”

Huang Dan said it was fine, “It’s just silly.”

Chen Yue peeled a big white rabbit and stuffed it into his mouth, “It’s okay to be stupid. If you don’t be stupid a few times when you are young, you won’t dare to do something stupid when you want to do it.”

Huang Dan rolled the candy and ate it, “Compared to you, I seem to have aged without ever being young.”

Chen Yue’s face darkened, “Old my ass, it’s very uncomfortable to hear you say that.”

Huang Dan said, “I’ve never been a fool.”

Chen Yue’s face twitched, and he groaned, “Mrs. Chen, from the tone of your voice, you seem to be regretting something. It’s not easy to be an idiot. Now I can think of a way for you.”

Huang Dan shook his head, “No need, I’m just talking casually.”

“……”

Chen Yue pinched his face and said, “There is a small church in front. The locals go there to pray or repent in an attempt to get relief. My parents go there every Sunday. Do you want to sit there? Shall I take you to visit?”

Huang Dan stretched out his hand towards Chen Yue, “Please hold me.”

Chen Yue’s eyes were smiling, and his princess acted coquettishly to him, “Smile, if you smile, I will hold your hand.”

Huang Dan said, “Forget it.”

“Hey, we were just talking, why did you leave by yourself?”

Chen Yue strode to catch up with Huang Dan and grabbed his hand, “Wife, I like to see you smile, please smile at me.”

The corners of Huang Dan’s lips curled up, and he tightened his grip on his hand.

The chapel was very quiet, and the air was filled with the smell of winter, along with a certain solemnity unique to this place.

Huang Dan and Chen Yue were sitting on the bench in the chapel. There was no sound of the priest preaching around them, only the sound of the two of them breathing.

“Do you think there is a heaven?”

“Maybe.”

“If there is heaven, there will be hell. If there is hell, there will be Naihe Bridge. If there is reincarnation, there will be the afterlife.”

Chen Yue leaned towards Huang Dan, first touching him with his shoulder, and then his head, “Is that true?”

Huang Dan said, “Yeah.”

Chen Yue spoke in a low voice, “We agreed to spend this life together and also spend the next life together. You won’t lie to me, right?”

Huang Dan said, “I won’t lie to you.”

Chen Yue closed his eyes and prayed in the chapel, just like making a wish on a shooting star in the mission world, hanging a red note on the top of the wishing tree……sincerely every time.

After leaving the chapel, Chen Yue turned his back to Huang Dan, “Come up, I’ll carry you.”

Huang Dan looked at the broad back in front of him and recalled the time when he had a stomachache and Chen Yue carried him from the science and technology building to the infirmary. The back he pressed on was young and tough.

After many years, the small tree that grew against the sun finally grew into a towering tree.

Chen Yue tugged Huang Dan’s hand, “Why are you so stunned? Come up quickly!”

Huang Dan said, “I’ve gained weight recently.”

Chen Yue said, “A little fatter, about three or four pounds, but I can carry.”

Huang Dan asked, “Then you still want to carry me?”

Chen Yue couldn’t laugh or cry, “Don’t say you’ve gained three or four pounds. Even if you’re as fat as a ball, I’ll still carry you.”

Huang Dan didn’t say anything, just lay down on his back and put his arms around his neck.

“Be gentle, ancestor, neck is about to break.”

Chen Yue carried him for a walk on the quiet path, “Tell me what your plans are for the future.”

Huang Dan said, “It used to be, but now it’s gone.”

Chen Yue asked curiously, “Why is it gone? Huang Dan I know is not a person who just lets nature take its course and live one day at a time.”

Huang Dan lay on Chen Yue’s back, “With you in the future, the past plans will be invalid. I want to include you in it. The new plan has not been made yet. I will tell you when I make it.”

Chen Yue lost his ability to speak all of a sudden. The person on his back didn’t know how to say sweet words and didn’t have much romance, but when he was serious, he could touch people’s hearts.

“There’s a saying on the Internet, ‘Carrying you on my back is like carrying the whole world on my back’. I think I feel that way a little bit.”

Huang Dan said, “Your whole world weighs 136 pounds.”

Chen Yue staggered. Look, he is so emotionless.

Before dark, Huang Dan and Chen Yue went home. The atmosphere at home was calm and harmonious, and no one mentioned what happened at noon.

At around nine o’clock in the evening, Chen Yue ended the conversation with Huang Dan. He put on his slippers and got out of bed, “I’ll be back soon. Don’t wait for me. Go to bed first.”

Huang Dan hummed.

Chen Yue pressed down a few corners of Huang Dan’s quilt. The room was not air-conditioned and quite cold. He put on his military coat over his sweater and knocked on the door of the room across, “Dad, Mom, are you asleep?”

Father Chen’s voice came from the inner room, not sounding sleepy at all, “No, come in.”

Chen Yue pushed the door open and saw his parents sitting on the chairs, not yet in bed. He sneezed, “It’s so windy outside, why don’t you close the window?”

Father Chen ate two raisins and said, “That’s why they say people’s physique is getting worse with each generation. Back then, it was much colder. I didn’t even have a cotton-padded jacket to wear, but I still went up the mountain to dig wild vegetables.”

Chen Yue also grabbed a handful and ate it, “How old were you then? How old are you now? Don’t refuse to admit your age. I remember the last time you went out for a walk, you caught a cold and had to be on IV drip for several days before you recovered.”

Father Chen couldn’t say any more nonsense.

Mother Chen took an apple to the bathroom, washed it, and handed it to her son, “The room needs ventilation, and the windows will be closed before going to bed. What do you want to see us for?”

Chen Yue took a bite of the apple and said, “In a few years, Huang Dan and I will adopt a child.”

Father Chen and Mother Chen were stunned at first, but then smiles appeared on their wrinkled faces. They couldn’t suppress their surprise at all. They asked in unison, “Who meant this?”

“Huang Dan meant.”

Chen Yue said while eating an apple, “He discussed it with me and felt that the two of us have a good income and will not be poor in the future. It should be no problem to adopt a child. Besides, doing so can not only help the orphanage and contribute a little, but also give you two old people a place to live.”

Mother Chen was very excited and said several “yes” in one breath, “Then where should we adopt from? In China, the living habits are the same as ours, and we can be closer. Will you raise the child or will we? The environment and air here are good, so why not keep him with us? You can come and see the child when you have time. When the child grows up and needs to go to school, we can make a decision based on the actual situation at that time.”

She became more and more excited as she spoke, as if she had suddenly become several years younger, “Is a boy or a girl better? I think each has its own advantages. Why not raise two? A Gege and a meimei, or a Jiejie and a didi will do. This way they can have a companion.”

Father Chen was stunned when he heard this. How did the question change from “Who will raise the child” to “how many children to raise”?

Mother Chen said, “One child will be lonely, but two can learn to share.”

Father Chen said that one would also share his own things with others, “It mainly depends on personality and family atmosphere. It doesn’t mean that single child are necessarily selfish. By the same principle, families with many Zimei can also be selfish.”

(Zimei= sisters)

Mother Chen sighed, “It is true that there is such a phenomenon, but we will all be gone in the future. If the child has a Xiongdi or Jiemei, they can support each other. If he is alone, he will have to carry it all by himself.”

Father Chen said, “It’s the same principle. If you have many Zimei, there are times when you can’t count on them. After all, everyone will have their own families in the future and have many things to consider. It’s better to rely on yourself than to rely on others.”

Mother Chen glared at her husband, “Surnamed Chen, you have to tear me down, right?”

Father Chen lowered his head to eat raisins and said nothing.

The room fell silent. The old man didn’t speak, and the young man didn’t make a sound either. Mother Chen was panicking. Could it be that they couldn’t reach an agreement to raise the child? She kicked her husband under the table.

Father Chen ignored her at first and was kicked several times before he spoke, “You have to ask your son about this.”

When Chen Yue saw his mother looking over, he ate the apple in his mouth and said, “Mom, Huang Dan and I have discussed about raising one.”

Mother Chen smiled broadly and said, “It’s not urgent. You need to ask Huang Dan first to see what he thinks. Maybe he has changed his mind and thinks of agreeing with your mom.”

Chen Yue,“……”

He ate all the remaining apples and stood up and said, “Then I’m going to bed.”

Father Chen said humbly, “Close the door.”

Mother Chen remembered something and said, “Son, can you stay home for one more day? Mom still has a lot of delicious food to make for you. I will make fish balls and glutinous rice balls for you tomorrow.”

Father Chen’s arm was twisted, and he said quickly, “Yes, it’s the twelfth lunar month now, and it’s cold. You can take those things back home and put them in the freezer so they can be eaten for a few days.”

Chen Yue said, “I’ll ask him.”

Mother Chen was surprised, “You can’t even make the decision on such a small thing?”

Chen Yue said as a matter of course, “Mom, since we are a husband and wife, we must respect each other and cannot make decisions privately without informing the other party. This is a matter of improper attitude.”

Father Chen and Mother Chen could not understand the way their son treated marriage. In their opinion, it was a trivial matter and not worth mentioning at all. Perhaps it was because the times had changed and the concepts of this generation were very different from theirs.

“Okay, go ahead and ask, and let us know when you’re done.”

Chen Yue went to the bathroom to rinse his mouth, went back to the room, took off his coat and lay on the bed, “My mother wants us to stay at home for two more days. I said I want to ask your opinion first. What about you? What do you think?”

Huang Dan said, “Okay.”

Chen Yue knew this was the answer, but he didn’t reply to his mother at that time. He chose to come back and ask first. He took Huang Dan’s hand and put it to his lips and kissed it a few times. “I told them about the child. The old couple’s eyes were filled with tears. They were so happy.”

Huang Dan yawned, “They gave birth to you and raised you, and now they gave you to me. But I can’t give them what they want most. I can only try my best to satisfy them. I can’t ignore their feelings.”

Chen Yue’s eyes heated up, and he took the person into his arms, “I’m telling you, you can give me so much. Look, my happiness for the rest of my life lies in your hands. No one else can give me anything but you. My parents will feel relieved if I live a good life. Once they feel reassured, they will definitely be able to eat delicious food, be in good health, and live a long life.”

Huang Dan was convinced by him, “That’s right.”

Chen Yue buried his face in his neck, “There is another thing. My mom wants to raise two children. She thinks that in this way, the children will have a companion as they grow up, and when the day comes in the future when we can only take care of our own lives and no longer take care of them, they will still be able to live well.”

Huang Dan pursed his lips, “Ayi is very thoughtful.”

Chen Yue leaned back a little to hold Huang Dan’s face and look, “What do you think?”

Huang Dan said, “Just follow Ayi’s idea.”

Chen Yue continued to stare at Huang Dan, not wanting him to be a little reluctant. After all, it is a big deal. From the moment a decision is made, the whole family will stand on the same front, “Really?”

Huang Dan nodded, “Yeah.”

Chen Yue held Huang Dan’s face, kissed him hard on his forehead, turned around and went to make a phone call.

Father Chen’s voice was full of energy and he was obviously very energetic, “It’s just a few steps away from the door. Why are you calling? Doesn’t it cost money to call?”

Chen Yue went out for a while and came back. The heat in the quilt was less than half, and he was afraid that Huang Dan would be cold, “Dad, tell my mom that we will stay for two more days before leaving. We will adopt two children, and then we will go back to China together to inquire about the situation.”

It took Father Chen a long time to answer, his voice trembling a little, “Okay!”

Chen Yue hung up the phone, circled Huang Dan and kissed her, “Honey, our parents will definitely be extremely happy right now.”

He not only kissed him, but also bit him, which made Huang Dan cry in pain.

It was very quiet at night, and any sound would be amplified. Father Chen and Mother Chen across the room sat up as soon as they lay down. How could there be crying at this late hour?

Mother Chen felt nervous when she heard this, “Did they have a fight? Go and take a look.”

Father Chen said in embarrassment, “It’s not appropriate for an old man like me to go, you go.”

Mother Chen kicked him, “Are you going or not?”

Father Chen came back quickly after he left, “It’s okay, it’s just a young couple having fun.”

Mother Chen frowned, “Are you kidding? How is it fun? Did you go in and take a look?”

Father Chen said he did not go in, but went outside and heard, “My son has good teeth, so he bit Huang Dan and it hurt.”

Mother Chen was shocked, “How severe does the bite have to be to cry so fiercely? No, I’d better go and have a look, just in case he needs to get vaccinated……”

Father Chen couldn’t stand hearing it anymore, “What kind of vaccine should he get? My son doesn’t have rabies.”

Mother Chen came back to her senses and said, “That’s right. Since he was little, cats and dogs have been scared when they see him. They don’t dare to be tough with him. He hasn’t been bitten before, so if he doesn’t get vaccinated, the wound needs to be bandaged, right? There is a medicine box at home, you can take it and send it over.”

Father Chen coughed twice and said, “It shouldn’t be necessary. I seem to have heard my son say to use saliva to disinfect.”

Mother Chen thought for a while, “The bite probably wasn’t deep.”

Father Chen also thought, “Huang Dan, that child might be afraid of pain. He has a special physique. I’ve seen similar reports.”

“That’s the opposite of my son. He’s never been afraid of pain since he was little. One year he broke his leg while riding a bicycle, and a large piece of flesh fell off. You could almost see the bone. I fainted from crying, but you told me that he endured it all the time and didn’t cry at all.”

Mother Chen came out of her memories and said, “He’s almost 30 and he’s still biting people. What kind of words are you talking about? You can talk to him later. It’s wrong to bully honest people.”

Father Chen looked surprised, “Oh, you know that too.”

Words spoken cannot be taken back. It was useless for Father Chen to admit his mistake. He just hugged his pillow and fell asleep at the end of the bed.

When he woke up the next day, Huang Dan clearly felt that the atmosphere at home was different, and he relaxed unconsciously.

Mother Chen in the yard shouted, “You Huang Dan, come here and help me thread the needle.”

Huang Dan signaled Chen Yue not to follow, and he walked over alone.

Mother Chen looked at the young man in front of her. He had red lips and white teeth, and was extremely good-looking. It would be really great if he was a girl. She sighed, nothing is perfect.

Huang Dan put the thread through the needle hole and pulled out a length, “Okay.”

Mother Chen took it in her hand and said, “What’s wrong with your mouth?”

Huang Dan said he bit it in his dream.

Mother Chen smiled and said, “You are greedy and want to eat meat. I will ask your Shushu to make braised pork for you at noon.”

Huang Dan also laughed and said yes, “Ayi, making shoes by yourself is very hard.”

“The cloth shoes are comfortable to wear.”

Mother Chen was in very good spirits, “I will make a few more pairs for you both while my eyes are still good. If my eyes get worse one day, I won’t be able to make them anymore.”

Huang Dan was stunned, “Me too?”

Mother Chen sighed, “This is what I have on hand. I measured it according to the sole of your leather shoe. Does it fit?”

Huang Dan said it was fitting, “Thank you, Ayi.”

“What are you thanking me for? You’ve come here, but Ayi doesn’t have anything to give you.”

Mother Chen sewed the soles of the shoes stitch by stitch and said after a moment of silence, “Chen Yue told us about the child. It’s because of your generosity.”

Huang Dan felt a little uncomfortable. He was not generous, but selfish.

Mother Chen said, “Chen Yue’s father and I are very grateful to you.”

Huang Dan knew that Mother Chen was not sarcastic. He sighed in his heart and envied Chen Yue for having such a family.

Mother Chen pulled the needle and rubbed it on the sole of the shoe a few times, “Although you are still young now, you will grow old one day. When you are old, we will be gone and unable to take care of you. By then, you will find that there are many things you cannot do. The children can help you.”

Huang Dan said, “I know.”

He and Chen Yue each have their own careers, and it is time for them to work hard. They will not have any free time in the next 20 to 30 years. The old couple do not live with them, so they can’t spend much time together. With the children around, it won’t be too lonely.

Mother Chen stopped sewing the soles of the shoes and continued, “I’ll be thankful for your hard work in the future.”

Huang Dan saw a water stain on the soles of the shoes. He pursed his lips, took out a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it over.

In the living room, Father Chen witnessed this scene and thought that the future relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law would not be bad, “Son, I told your mother about the marriage.”

Chen Yue didn’t look back, “What did mom say?”

Father Chen had a smile on his face, “She didn’t say anything, just went to rummage through the box and took out a cheongsam from the bottom of the box.”

Chen Yue turned his head sharply.

Father Chen patted his son on the shoulder, “The wedding is once in a lifetime, don’t leave any regrets. Also, son, congratulations on getting what you wanted.”

Chen Yue pinched the bridge of his nose, “Dad, you suddenly become sentimental, I can’t help crying.”

Father Chen smacked his lips and said, “Be grateful and God will bless you. Okay, stop squeezing your tears and follow me to the kitchen to make fish balls.”

Two days later, Huang Dan and Chen left town, packing small bags, and headed for their home.

Huang Dan looked back and found that the old couple were still standing there, their figures blurred.

Chen Yue said, “When I was in school, every weekend when I went back to school, my mom would be waiting at the door. I would walk a long way and look back, but she would still be there. No matter how many times I told her, it was useless.”

Huang Dan said, “It’s great to have parents.”

Chen Yue glanced at him, “Silly, don’t you have one too?”

Huang Dan nodded, “Yes, I have one too.”

Around noon, the castle gate opened to Huang Dan. He got out of the car and walked side by side with Chen Yue on the spacious boulevard.

Chen Yue called home to report their safety, and then introduced Huang Dan to every plant and tree in the castle. He was like a great friend waiting to be praised, “The trees I planted will not wither and turn yellow all year round.”

Huang Dan didn’t have time to praise him, “This place is too big, will it feel empty for the two of us to live here?”

Chen Yue’s face was dark, “Our dog little Pudding and I have been living together for long time.”

Huang Dan looked around as he walked, feeling like he had entered a forest, “There are so many trees.”

Chen Yue raised his eyebrows, “What about it?”

Huang Dan said, “You can’t stay under a tree in the summer because insect feces will fall down.”

Before Chen Yue could say anything, he heard him say, “I like our home very much.”

Hearing these words, Chen Yue felt happy in his heart, “Just like it.”

He motioned Huang Dan to look around, “This area is all ours, including the back hill. The air is very fresh. You can go for a run when you get up in the morning.”

Huang Dan knew himself, “If I run out, I can’t come back.”

Chen Yue gave him a look that I knew. “So I built two more garages with cars in them. You can drive back.”

Huang Dan,“……”

The nanny doesn’t usually live here. When Chen Yue is away on business, he will ask her to stay and take care of the Shiba Inu little pudding.

As the sound of a car engine approached, the Shiba Inu rushed out of its kennel like a young wife waiting for her husband to come home.

Huang Dan looked at the vigorous figure of the Shiba Inu getting closer and closer. He was in a trance, “It’s very similar.”

Chen Yue put down his luggage and squatted down to pick up the Shiba Inu, stroking the hair on its back with his hands, “I picked it specially.”

Huang Dan touched Shiba Inu’s head with his hand and said, “Hello.”

The Shiba Inu barked at Huang Dan several times and wagged its tail, showing no sign of rejection at all.

Huang Dan opened his arms and said, “I’ll give you a hug.”

Chen Yue’s brows immediately wrinkled, “No, you can only hug me.”

Huang Dan was a little speechless.

Chen Yue was jealous of everyone. The reason why he agreed to the adoption was because the child would not live with them, otherwise he would not be able to live.

The nanny once saw a photo when she was clearing the table in the living room, so when she saw Huang Dan, she became polite after a brief surprise.

Don’t see much, don’t listen much, a smart person.

While Chen Yue was talking to the nanny, Huang Dan picked up the Shiba Inu and petted it. Having it at home made the house more lively.

Chen Yue let the nanny go. Next he had to cook, mop the floor, and do the laundry by himself, just to get things done before the wedding.

On the 5th, Jiang Long and Liu Feng set off for the wedding, and Song Min also set off. Only when he got there did he realize that he had misremembered the name of the hotel.

Song Min walked towards the door of the hotel, and met several Oriental people who came in. They smelled of alcohol and seemed to have just left a certain bar.

He didn’t read the almanac when he went out today, and someone vomited all over him.

“Shit!”

The person with a stain on his clothes did not curse, but the culprit started to curse.

Song Min was in a hurry, so he took off his smelly coat and left. A voice came from behind, “Da Shu, wait a minute.”

A tall young man came over, with a pair of peach blossom eyes on face, a dashing look, and a well-spoken manner. His breath was full of the smell of alcohol and tobacco, and there was an aggression in his eyes when he looked over, “My friend drank too much. I’m here to bring him to apologize to you. This is my business card. Tell me the money for the laundry and I’ll transfer it to you when the time comes.”

The old way of picking up a conversation.

Song Min threw the business card into the trash can when he went out.

Sigh, while I understand the sentiment, there are no guarantees in this world. I think CY and HD will treat their children well, probably. It’s just that if the only reason is to compromise with CY’s parents or to have companionship/care when they are old like Mother Chen suggested, it’s really unfair to the kids. There are so many cases of children dying before their parents and people dying alone in nursing homes because their children won’t take care of them, to name a few scenarios. I’m sure every parent believes that will never be happen to them. A lot of them would be wrong. Ah, not sure why I feel particularly upset about this today. Anyway, thank you for the translations!!!
