Chapter 159. Number In The Eyes

T/N:- Triple updates.

The sudden bright light made Chen You close his eyes, feeling uncomfortable. When he opened them again, the man had found a cigarette and was holding it between his lips.

Chang Qin clicked his metal lighter and took a drag, “Tell me, what did you dream about?”

Why on earth is this happening? I’ve never seen you so concerned about my dreams before. Chen You’s eyes were evasive, feeling guilty. He coughed twice and made up a story without blushing or beating his heart, “It’s just a dream of something dreadful.”

Chang Qin’s face was obscured by smoke, “Something dreadful?”

Chen You shuddered for no apparent reason and said, “Too dreadful. Fortunately, it was just a dream.”

As he spoke, he hugged himself tightly, rubbed his arms, and rubbed himself against the man’s arms, trying hard to look frightened.

Chang Qin narrowed his eyes slightly and asked casually, “What is it that scares you so much?”

Chen You blew, clearing away the cloud of smoke. Quickly, he tried to see the man’s face and make his next move based on his expression.

The man’s face was clearly visible, but he looked expressionless, like a big shot in a horror movie, ready to tear him apart at any moment.

After a while, Chang Qin chuckled softly, his voice muffled and low, “Why don’t you say anything?”

Chen You was about to cry. Say what? I’m just afraid you’ll kill me.

You don’t know that when you’re not up to something, you’re both gentle and domineering. But when you are, you become a complete pervert.

Chang Qin raised a hand, placed it on the young man’s forehead, and rubbed the hair, “Wife, be good, okay?”

The bedroom suddenly became quiet.

Chen You couldn’t stand the creepy atmosphere anymore. He surrendered, discarding his poor acting skills and simply speaking the truth. After all, stretching his neck would result in a knife wound, and retracting it would also result in a knife wound. His little tricks were simply not enough.

“I lied. Actually, I dreamed of a man.”

Chang Qin smoked his cigarette, seemingly unconcerned, “Oh?”

Chen You didn’t dare look at the man’s expression. A short pain was better than a long one, so he closed his eyes and said in one breath, “The man had his back to me. I thought it was you, so I pounced on him. But when he turned around, I realized it wasn’t you.”

Chang Qin asked, “Do you know him?”

Chen You shook his head, “I don’t know him.”

Chang Qin put down his cigarette and tapped the ash into the ashtray on the bedside table, “What does he look like?”

Chen You couldn’t guess what his man was thinking. He didn’t know if it’s casual or if he had some sort of idea, “He has narrow eyes, a mole on his face, hair is combed back, and wearing a black suit and tie.” He added silently, so handsome, so tall, so cold.

Chang Qin put out his cigarette and pressed his lips against the young man’s, his movements passionate and intense.

Caught off guard, Chen You inhaled another fistful of secondhand smoke, the smell of cigarettes in the man’s mouth. He half-closed his eyes and felt a little dizzy from the kiss. He wanted to stop, and also didn’t want to.

The suffocating feeling surged like a tide, coming on fiercely but fading slowly, gnawing at a certain string in his brain bit by bit. Before Chen You could even catch his breath, the man beside him had already turned over and pressed on him.

It was the dead of night, and not sure where the excitement came from, but it was very extreme and high-pitched.

Chen You hurriedly called the system in his mind, “Old 4, give me a few tubes of ointment.”

System said, “Out of stock.”

Chen You whimpered, “What should I do? I’m so afraid of pain. My man is so overbearing. I can’t handle it.”

After a moment, System said, “The last one.”

One is better than none at all. Chen You was moved to tears, “I know you still love me. Good night, see you tomorrow.”

System was invisible.

Chen You wasn’t worried about the system seeing his business with his man. The other party had told him many times that everything below the eye level was blocked. He’d always forgotten it at first, but now he remembered it.

It was late at night, past two in the morning. Outside the villa, there was silence. Inside the bedroom, every speck of dust floating around was together, forever and ever.

Chang Qin saw that the time was about right, so he got his homemade rice water to feed Chen You. It was a secret recipe, thicker than regular rice water, rich in nutrients, and had beauty and sleep-inducing properties, and was also easy to digest.

One drinks, the other feeds, and time passes by fast and slow.

Chang Qin fed him too hastily, and Chen You shook his head, backed away, swallowed it, and continued drinking.

Eating late at night had become a normal part of Chen You’s life. He was used to having two mouthfuls, but tonight his man fed him a bit too much, one mouthful after another.

In the end, Chen You was drunk.

A little rice water accidentally stained the bed. Chang Qin wiped it off with a tissue and went to the bathroom to wash his hands.

Chen You had eaten and drunk his fill, and logically, he should have felt sleepy and had a good night’s sleep. However, as he lay down, his mind was filled with the person in his dream. Strangely, after just a bowl or two of rice water, he could no longer remember the person’s appearance, figure, or clothing. It was as if there was some existence sabotaging and forcibly erasing the dream.

However, Chen You still remembered a mole and a pair of phoenix eyes.

Those two features seemed like indelible marks, unknowingly etched deep into his memory.

The eyes resembled those of Big shot Qin , the same phoenix-shaped eyes, long and narrow, sharp and cold, making one dare not look directly at them. He couldn’t remember what the person in the dream looked like, but he remembered the mole on the left side of the other person’s cheek, which was just right and very beautiful.

Chen You scratched his head, closed his eyes, then opened them again. Holy shit, this is fucking weird. I remember those phoenix eyes and the mole so clearly.

How clear is it? It feels like even if he returned to the real world, forgot all his experiences in the mission world, and was confined to a sanatorium with mental problems, he would still be able to recognize anyone with those eyes and a mole on their face at a glance.

Chen You patted his face and said, don’t think about it, don’t think about it. Go to sleep. You’ll definitely forget it when you wake up tomorrow.

Dreams aren’t anything new, everyone has them. No matter how horrible a nightmare or how blissful a dream, they will soon fade away.

Chang Qin returned to the bedroom and took out a pair of clean pants from the closet, tossing them to Chen You, “Put them on before you go to sleep.”

Chen You fished out the wrinkled pants he had worn before from under the quilt and threw them directly to the end of the bed. He grabbed the pants Chang Qin had tossed and stuffed them into the quilt. The moment he looked up, he wanted to curse. Damn you, what the hell is so good about these pants?

Chang Qin didn’t think so. He watched with gusto, sniffed it, and said with a smile, “You should eat less mutton, otherwise you will suffer from excessive internal heat.”

Chen You, “…”

Being able to do something perverted so gracefully is a skill.

Chang Qin lay back on the bed, feeling quite cheerful. He reached out his arm, scooped the young man up into his embrace, and caressed his shoulders, “From now on, if you have any problem, you can tell me.”

Chen You thought to himself, I don’t want to hide anything from you, I have restrictions, and there are many things I can’t say.

After a moment, Chen You rolled over, resting his head on the man’s arm. Looking at him from such a close distance, he was so handsome that there was nothing to say. Although his memory was a bit messy, he could still remember that the other person’s face had never been ugly, and his appearance had always been on point, much higher than the average level, which others could not catch up with even with cheats.

Chang Qin kept his eyelids closed, “Once more?”

Chen You rolled his eyes. Gege, don’t you know you’re incredibly gifted? One time is worth a dozen times of an average person’s time. Do it again, and it’ll be dawn.

He didn’t want to sleep, so he pinched the man’s Adam’s apple for fun, using very light pressure, “Have you seen it online? It’s common for men to only last a few minutes at a time. How can you last so long?”

Chang Qin’s Adam’s apple rolled. He grabbed the young man’s hand and put it under the quilt, “I’m not an ordinary person.”

Chen You snorted, “Then what are you?”

Chang Qin chuckled in his ear, “I’m your man.”

Chen You twitched his lips, unconvinced, “If you say so. I’m not an ordinary person either, so why don’t I even last a minute each time?” It was heartbreaking, even the speed of a roller coaster couldn’t keep up with him. Swish, swish, swish, it’s over.

Chang Qin said nothing, but sighed deeply, his meaning clear and a hint of sympathy.

Chen You glared at him angrily, “Go to sleep!”

After waking from his sleep, Chen You still remembered the phoenix eyes in his dream, and the face that was blurry but with a very clear mole. Strangely, he was a little distracted while drinking porridge.

Chang Qin asked Chen You to eat more salted duck eggs, “What are you thinking about?”

Chen You poked a piece of egg yolk with his chopsticks and ate it, mumbling, “It’s just that dream from last night.”

Chang Qin rolled up his sleeves a little, “Why?”

Chen You yawned, “Nothing. I just think a mole on the face looks nice. I want to get one, too.”

Chang Qin curled his lips, “Don’t you have one? In the corner of your eye.”

Chen You was stunned, and it took him a while to realize that the man was talking about his real self. Yeah, he did have it. But the location wasn’t great, and the name was even less so. It was called something like tear mole, which sounded melancholic.

God knows what he lacks most is melancholy.

Aiya, having said that, he and the person in his dream have a connection. They both have moles on their faces. If they weren’t from the same family eight hundred years ago, they might be from the same family eight hundred years later.

The weather is bad today, it’s chilly and looks like it’s going to snow again.

Snow weighed down the branches. A playful bird deliberately flew over and pressed down with its claws, causing the branch to bend slightly, and a handful of white snow fluttered down.

That morning, Chen You slumped back in his rocking chair, his brows raised lazily as he watched his man fiddle with a painting. It was painted by the other party himself yesterday, using the ink he ground himself. The painting shows a big black bird with beautiful black feathers, bright and lively eyes, and it looks lifelike. There is also a poem on the side.

The bird was painted by Chang Qin, and the poem was written by Chen You. The couple collaborated on several paintings.

Chen You’s head rested on his shoulder, “It’s crooked.”

Chang Qin then moved the painting to the left, and once he was sure it fit perfectly, he fixed it on the wall and went on to hang another one.

Chen You hummed, his legs shaking. He had no idea how his mission was progressing. Last time, the system said the data was paralyzed, and nothing had been done since. He stared at the man’s back and asked the system in his mind, “Has the data been repaired?”

System’s unchanging mechanical tone gave the illusion of a low mood, “Still paralyzed.”

Chen You asked anxiously, “What should I do then?” He couldn’t see the progress of the mission, and he now extremely doubted that he had already completed it. After all, Chang Qin loved him, even the smallest dandruff is loved, and that love was profound.

System simply said, “Wait.”

Chen You grabbed a handful of walnuts and ate them, “If I finish this mission, can I go home?”

System said, “According to the rules, you can’t.”

Chen You stroked his fur, “My dear Old 4! Don’t be like this. Rules are dead, but people are alive. Don’t be so bureaucratic. It’s very inhumane. Please be more flexible.”

System said, “Can’t stretch it.”

Chen You, “…”

System said, “Pray more, and the Lord will bless you.”

Is this the system’s aunt Flo not planning to leave and stay longer? His tone is getting more and more sarcastic day by day. It’s confusing. Chen You stuffed the broken walnuts in his hand into his mouth. Forget it, he still has to rely on his man, who has a big gold man. He still loves him and will definitely take care of him.

On the day before Christmas, a car pulled up outside the villa and two employees in blue uniforms got out. They unloaded a large Christmas tree, covered in small ornaments like stars.

The Christmas tree was placed in the garden, so bright that it dazzled even the birds.

Chen You came out of the living room and hung some small items he had bought online, on the tree. Inside one of the small cloth bags was a pair of rings, waiting for Chang Qin to open them.

The ring was silver. It wasn’t that Chen You was stingy, but he didn’t have a job, so Chang Qin took care of everything he needed for food, clothing, and daily necessities. He could have a lot of pocket money, or none at all, depending on how much he wanted.

The money for the ring was earned by Chen You playing cards with Chang Qin, not by asking for it. He secretly registered an account and placed the order, fearing that the other party would find out.

In the previous world, the Director had done this before. The wedding rings were meticulously designed, with the date of their acquaintance engraved inside. It was the day he met the big shot for the first time in the private room of Gold. After completing his mission and leaving, he didn’t bring the ring with him.

Chen You also wanted to do it once, to give the person he liked a surprise. That must feel great.

Reflecting on his thoughts, Chen You looked at the Christmas tree. His sharp eyes caught sight of a white corner. He pulled it out from the tree. It was a pure white card with a small figure on it. It was very abstract, so there was an arrow next to it, labeled with three words: Mentally Retarded Chen.

The writing is neat and must be typed, not handwritten.

That’s not the point. What the hell is this Mentally Reatarded Chen? Chen You looked astonished. He took the card and went to find his man, demanding to have the family discipline enforced.

On the second floor, Chang Qin was on the phone, not sure who was on the other end, but his lips pressed together, his jaw tense, and a look of anger settled between his brows. When he heard footsteps coming up the stairs, he ended the call.

Once he found the person, Chen You turned the card over and showed it to him.

Chang Qin took the card and asked, “You want me to write something for you?”

Chen You grumbled, hmph, write what? You threw a card in the Christmas tree, that’s fine, at least write ‘Merry Christmas, I love you, honey’ on it. But you drew a little man on it and wrote ‘Mentally Retarded Chen’ next to it. What do you mean? Are you breaking up with me, or what?

Chang Qin pinched the back of Chen You’s neck, “Stop snorting, pig.”

He flipped the card over, and said, “The Christmas tree is here, right? Be good and go open your presents.”

Chen You casually glanced at the card, and his eyes widened. He held it up to his face as if he had seen a ghost, staring at it left and right. There was no mention of a little figure, not even a single word. It was so clean and white that he felt dizzy and questioned his life.

This world is a haunted place, with ghosts aplenty and lurking everywhere.

Chen You took a breath and tucked the card into his pocket as casually as possible. He turned and walked towards the stairs. The man’s voice came from behind him, “Give me the card.”

He swallowed, turned around, and asked, “What?”

Chang Qin stepped closer, reached into Chen You’s pocket, and took out the card with two fingers, “I’m writing you a Christmas greeting.”

Chen You was afraid something strange might appear on the card again, so he tried to snatch it back, “Just tell me directly.”

Chang Qin lowered his head and kissed Chen You on the lips, “Behave.”

Chen You watched helplessly as his man took the mysterious card. He wondered what was going on. He felt uneasy, as if something terrible was about to happen. He rubbed his hands together and jumped up and down on the spot. Should he ask the system? Or maybe not. He was afraid of being affected because his aunt Flo was also here.

In the study, Chang Qin leaned back in his chair, smoking, with the card on the table.

A cigarette burned a third of the way down when Chang Qin picked up the card. His face was expressionless, his eyes half-lidded. Something flashed in his dark pupils, too fast to be captured by the naked eye.

Black lines and words slowly appeared on the originally blank card, restoring themselves one by one.

The card contained a small figure labeled “mentally retarded Chen,” and a golden seal in the lower left corner, indicating Si.

Chang Qin’s lips curved slightly, a terrifying arc. He sneered, dropped the card into the ashtray, and pressed the cigarette butt into it. The burnt hole in the card grew larger and larger, until only a pile of ash remained.

In front of the Christmas tree, Chen You silently prayed.

——Almighty Lord! I am your most loyal child, and I hope for world peace.

When Chang Qin went downstairs, he saw the young man cutting apples in the kitchen. He went over to take a look and saw that they were all cut into small pieces.

Seeing the man’s questioning look, Chen You said, “Tonight is Christmas Eve, and the birds celebrate too.”

Chang Qin raised an eyebrow, “They told you?”

“I often play the bird, so I listen to what they say.”

Chen You fed the man a piece of apple and said, “I have something to tell you.”

He smiled, very proudly, “Those birds used to think you were their idol, but now it’s me.”

Chang Qin shook his head, “Their vision has regressed.”

Chen You, “…”

He hooked the man’s neck and angrily ate the apple that was still in his mouth.

Chang Qin’s eyes dimmed slightly as he took a piece and put it in his mouth. He bent slightly and leaned closer, a smile on his face.

Chen You pushed the shamelessly approaching face away and went to play.

Chang Qin sighed, ate the apple in a few bites, and followed the young man with his hands in his pockets, “Did you open the gift I gave you?”

Chen You then said it hadn’t been opened yet, “I’ll do it later.”

He carried the bowl filled with apples out and placed it on the bench. A moment later, a freckled bird flew over and pecked away a piece of the apple.

Chen You recognized it. It was the Green Tea Bitch.

I haven’t seen you for a few days and you’ve lost weight. It seems you’ve succeeded in losing weight.

The freckled bird relied on its personal charm to defeat several competitors and win the hearts of the bird king’s circle. It is now the queen.

The bird king went on a secret visit somewhere else, and the freckle bird was in charge here. It took the lead, and the birds behind it lined up and flew one by one to get the apples.

Chen You turned his head and saw the man taking a cloth bag from the Christmas tree, the same one he used to put the rings in.

There were so many things hanging on the tree, and you actually managed to strike it in one shot. So lucky, hn! You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t grab red envelopes during the Chinese New Year.

Chang Qin opened the cloth bag and saw the ring inside. He was stunned.

Chen You’s heart was pounding, probably like the legendary deer’s fluttering heartbeat?

He licked his dry lips, his face burning. Even an old couple would feel shy about engaging in such activities.

“I estimated the ring size by secretly pinching your finger. Try it on to see if it fits.”

Chang Qin raised his eyes, his gaze gentle, “It fits.”

Chen You was stunned, “How can you tell without trying?”

Chang Qin put the larger ring on his ring finger. It was neither too tight nor too loose, just right.

The other ring encircled Chen You’s finger, also fitting perfectly, as if measured with a ruler.

He smacked his lips. He was worried about returns before buying this thing online. It turned out that he was overthinking it.

After a touching moment, the two of them hugged each other, looked into each other’s eyes, and then kissed.

Well, this is the time!

Chen You held the man in his arms, expressing his thoughts without the wit to embellish them with eloquent words or to make them more artistic.

“When I was a child, I rescued a wounded bird in the fields. As I grew up, I had a fascination with birds.”

“In the past, I only liked watching birds fly, and I didn’t like being pecked by birds. I still feel the same way now, but I like your family’s big black bird. I like it to peck me, and I only like to be pecked by it.”

These words are sincere and straightforward, aren’t they? Absolutely original and unique. They weren’t found online, nor were they ripped from TV.

After Chen You finished his longest confession ever, he took a breath. I’m so nervous, damn it! He hoped that man would no longer think that he liked watching the animal world. He really couldn’t fall in love with everyone like lions and tigers.

Chang Qin was struggling with a specific question, “Is the bird I raise black?”

Chen You said, “It’s not white anyway.”

Chang Qin, “…”

Chen You pulled him and said, “The color doesn’t matter. What matters is the size. The bird you raise is the most…”

Chang Qin glanced at him and asked, “Have you seen a lot?”

The smile on Chen You’s face froze, “If I tell you the truth, will you kill me?”

Chang Qin smiled, “No.”

Chen You escaped, “Do you think I’m stupid? I won’t fall for it!”

Chang Qin’s temples throbbed, “Come back to me.”

Chen You didn’t even turn his head, “Don’t want——”

He had already run out of the iron gate, but was still caught and brought back to the villa. Under coercion and inducement, he confessed a shocking figure.

It’s over! It’s over! It’s over!

Chen You was slapping the little pervert in his heart. After he realized that he was not a serious person during his freshman year, he started doing things that were not serious.

Whenever he had no classes, Chen You would go to the restrooms in the dormitory buildings and teaching buildings, and he would also go to the bathhouse.

When he went to that place, he couldn’t just look around without taking a bath, so he went there frequently and used up his water card quickly. Every time he went to top up the money, DaShu looked at him with a weird look that said, aiya young man, others are playing with their lives, but you are using your life in taking a bath.

After seeing so many things, Chen You felt tired and wanted to find a harbor to dock, and then his man appeared.

The atmosphere in the living room was not very good.

Chang Qin held his forehead, looking frightened.

Chen You moved closer and asked worriedly, “Are you okay?”

Chang Qin smiled and said, “Quite good.”

Chen You, “…” Who would believe that? Black energy is starting to come out of your body.

He moved aside.

Chang Qin’s tone was very gentle, “Will you watch it in the future?”

Chen You shook his head vigorously, “Absolutely not.”

Chang Qin put down his hand and pulled the person into his arms, “Besides watching, what else have you done?”

Chen You said, “Nothing else, really.”

Chang Qin asked, “Have you touched it?”

Chen You felt guilty.

Chang Qin’s face was expressionless, “How many times?”

Chen You counted on his fingers, but he couldn’t count on both hands.

This is embarrassing!

Chang Qin closed his eyes and suddenly laughed, “I’m really curious about you in college.”

“Just a pathetic nobody.”

Chen You chuckled, hehe, Gege, please stop laughing like that. I’m getting scared.

Chang Qin sighed and stroked the young man’s hair, “What’s in your head?”

Chen You blurted out, “You, and your family’s myna.”

Chang Qin had a headache because his vocabulary was too different from that of ordinary people.

Chen You grabbed the man’s hand and played with it, spinning the ring around and around. He said, “I just like you.”

Chang Qin’s ears turned red.

The birds that flew to the balcony were eating apples when a handful of dog food was thrown towards them, drowning them.

On Christmas Day, Chen You and Chang Qin went out and visited the ancient town in City D.

It is unknown when it started, but young people in China also consider Christmas as an important holiday. Eating, strolling, shopping, setting off firecrackers. That’s perfect.

The ancient town is very lively, with a wide variety of food, drinks and entertainment.

There was a couple holding hands walking in front, and Chen You and Chang Qin walked behind, winning by their long legs, couple scarves, and matching outfits.

The streets are full of couples showing affection, kissing in public, hugging, being affectionate, all kinds of things.

Come on, let’s see who makes the other sick to death first.

There were too many people, and Chen You didn’t dare to take out the hand with the ring on it. He was afraid that the ring would be stolen. It was not expensive but meant a lot to him.

People still have to be careful. After all, when a girl is listening to music, her phone can be stolen. Anything is possible.

Nowadays, those who are carefree may not necessarily be unlucky, but those who are unlucky are definitely those who are carefree.

After walking around for more than an hour, Chang Qin’s brows were furrowed. He took Chen You out of the dirty, messy and noisy place and went to a nearby restaurant.

Perhaps God saw that Chen You had been performing well recently, so he arranged a play for him as an appetizer before the meal.

There are quite a few actors who appear in the show. Don’t talk about the extras, let’s just talk about the three main actors.

One is Cheng Mingtian’s fuckbuddy Zhang Zhi, one is the weak bottom Qi Rui who Chen You helped make the decision to get rid of the scumbag gong in that side quest, and the other is Cheng Mingtian.

Among these three people, Qi Rui seems to be the most out of place, and he is very likely the root cause.

Chen You craned his neck, peering through the glass window, his face almost touching it.

Across the street, Zhang Zhi went to a restaurant with several colleagues from the company. He had just joined and knew some concerns among colleagues, so he treated them to the meal.

Everyone drank a lot, and Zhang Zhi had the best alcohol tolerance, so when he came out, his steps were steady and he was sober.

Qi Rui was walking nearby and was not paying attention when he was bumped by a middle-aged man coming towards him. Zhang Zhi was closest to him and reached out to help him.

This help happened to be seen by Cheng Mingtian who was not far away, and things started to get going.

Cheng Mingtian came to do business with people from the club. The customer was an old man with several layers of fat on his belly and a greasy face, and was older than his father.

After he finished his business, he vomited up the food he had eaten the night before.

He originally planned to find a place to sleep and then go to the bar to play later, but he didn’t expect to meet Zhang Zhi, who he had lost contact with, here.

When Cheng Mingtian reacted, he had already walked up to Zhang Zhi and slapped Qi Rui in the face.

Qi Rui was stunned.

Several colleagues were half sober and looked at each other, wondering what was going on.

Zhang Zhi’s face was filled with anger, “What’s your problem nutjob?”

Cheng Mingtian laughed, “I was wondering why you changed your number and I couldn’t find you. It turns out you got someone else!”

He looked at Qi Rui with contempt, “This DaShu, you look malnourished and skinny. Can you handle this? Zhang Zhi’s requirements are tremendous.”

Qi Rui’s face turned pale.

Several colleagues looked at the staggering Qi Rui, the terrifying Zhang Zhi, and the simple and pretty stranger boy, and understood something, all with disgusted expressions.

It turns out both of the new recruits are gay. How disgusting.

Zhang Zhi took a deep breath. It looked like he had to change companies. He glanced at Qi Rui guiltily.

There was a palm print on half of Qi Rui’s face. He noticed something and gave Zhang Zhi a look that said it’s okay.

Due to his personality, Qi Rui would not lose control on the street, and he even didn’t want to stay there any longer.

Cheng Mingtian caught this brief moment of one or two seconds and was about to make another sarcastic remark.

Seeing this, Zhang Zhi grabbed Cheng Mingtian by the collar and pulled him aside.

“Tell me, why are you looking for me?”

Cheng Mingtian grabbed Zhang Zhi’s hand and said, “I miss you so much. Do you miss me?”

He had never spoken softly to Zhang Zhi, nor had he ever said such ambiguous words.

This is the first time.

Zhang Zhi stared at the boy intently and said after a moment, “Cheng Mingtian, you still haven’t grown up.”

Cheng Mingtian’s face looked ugly. Grow up, grow up, fucking grow up, why do you all say that? Have you ever thought about my wishes?

I don’t want to grow up at all. Growing up is too painful and too hopeless.

“Zhang Zhi, will you accompany me growing up?”

Zhang Zhi remained indifferent.

He once thought that teenager is ignorant and things will be fine when he grows up, so he waited.

Later he realized that the boy would never grow up because he refused to mature.

Cheng Mingtian’s fingertips trembled when he didn’t get the desired response from the man. He bit his lip, his eyes moist, “Zhang Zhi, let’s start afresh.”

Zhang Zhi pulled the boy’s hand away and said calmly, “Start afresh? You’re mistaken. We never started.”

“Mingtian, I don’t care what you want from me, I can’t give it to you.”

Cheng Mingtian’s face twisted, and he said with drooping eyelids, “I don’t want anything, I just want you.”

Zhang Zhi said calmly, “That’s enough.”

He pinched the boy’s chin, “You never look me in the eye when you lie.”

Cheng Mingtian’s body stiffened.

Zhang Zhi said, “Even after what happened in your family, you haven’t changed at all.”

Cheng Mingtian pulled Zhang Zhi’s hand, but was waved away. He had never been treated like this before, so he immediately dropped his disguise and revealed his true face.

“That person is much older than you and looks very sick. Are you not worried about sending him to death?”

Zhang Zhilian didn’t even want to explain. This boy seemed like a stranger to him.

He didn’t say a word, just turned and left.

Cheng Mingtian shouted at the man’s back, “Zhang Zhi, if you take another step forward, I’ll rush to the road and let the car run over me to death!”

Zhang Zhi paused, but continued walking, “As you wish .”

He apologized to Qi Rui, stopped a taxi, and got in with the other party.

Cheng Mingtian stood there crying and laughing like a psychopath.

No matter how difficult these days were, he managed to get through it, thinking of Zhang Zhi.

As long as Zhang Zhi appeared, he had 100% confidence that he could make the other party follow him wholeheartedly.

There was Zhang Zhi, who could help him pay off his debts. This way, he won’t fend for himself.

Cheng Mingtian murmured to himself, “Nothing, nothing left.”

But he still didn’t want to die.

Why is this happening? Cheng Mingtian asked himself countless times. He knew the answer, but he just didn’t want to admit it. This was his own fault. In the restaurant, Chen You withdrew his gaze and continued to eat steak.

Chang Qin didn’t order anything and just drank boiled water.

Chen You continued eating, “Do you believe in retribution?”

Chang Qin said, “I don’t believe it.”

Chen You almost choked, “Why?”

Chang Qin put down the cup, leaned back in his chair, crossed his fingers, and was silent for a few moments.

“No reason.”

“……”

This answer was quite willful, and Chen You had nothing to say.

The two did not return to City M, but booked a room in a hotel here.

It was not as hygienic outside as at home, so they didn’t immerse themselves in a warm bath, and just simply washed.

Chen You said he wanted to blow dry Chang Qin’s hair, “Sit down.”

The tone used was that of puppy training.

Chang Qin sat on the chair and said, “No need, I can do it myself.”

Chen You had already turned on the hair dryer, “You usually do it for me, and I also want to treat you well.”

Chang Qin’s eyelids suddenly twitched.

Chen You imitated the man, ruffling his hair, “Be good, okay?”

Chang Qin’s face was dark.

Blowing hair is a mindless job, and Chen You finished it in just a few minutes.

He grabbed the man’s short hair and said, “I saw Cheng Mingtian last night. I heard that his family is in a very bad situation. Was it you who did this?”

Chang Qin said calmly, “I just run a restaurant, I don’t have that ability.”

Chen You said, “How humble.”

Chang Qin smiled and said, “So-so.”

Chen You was speechless. He was massaging the scalp of his family’s shameless man. He had done this to his father many times before and was very skilled at it.

His father always says that daughters are little cotton-padded jackets and sons are military coats, which are thicker and warmer.

Chen You’s answer was no good, saying dad wanted a daughter but couldn’t get one.

Coming out of his memories, Chen You gathered his emotions and said, “I almost met with a mishap that time. It was Cheng Mingtian who did it. I already guessed it.”

Chang Qin closed his eyes, neither denying nor admitting.

“I can’t figure out how Cheng Mingtian got in. And those people, could they possibly shrink?” Chen You muttered, “Aren’t you surprised?”

Chang Qin said, “If you can’t figure it out, don’t think about it. You are slow-witted to begin with, so don’t be foolish.”

Chen You, “…”

He leaned forward and said, “Honestly, the New Year is coming soon, and there are a lot of thieves. I don’t think the villa is safe.”

Chang Qin opened his eyes and said, “Don’t worry.”

Chen You said to himself, I have to worry. There are no neighbors around, and it’s such a big house. It’s just you and me. If something happens, no one will help me even if I scream at the top of my lungs.

“How about we move? Live somewhere else.”

Chang Qin said, “Okay.”

Chen You grinned and bit the tip of the man’s nose. He suddenly opened his eyes wide, “Chang, Chang Qin, I seem to see numbers in your eyes.”

Chang Qin’s expression remained unchanged, without any change, “How can there be numbers in a person’s eyes?”

He laughed out loud, “You must be dazzled.”

Chen You was just about to say maybe, when he saw it again, whizzing by.

Could it be his blurred vision this time?

Chen You’s breathing stopped for a beat and became rapid. He held the man’s face.

Chang Qin leaned back, “What?”

Chen You shouted in panic, “Don’t move!”

Chang Qin simply didn’t move, letting the young man come closer to look at him, and put his arm around his waist to prevent him from falling.

Soon, Chen You’s eyes became cross-eyed.

Chang Qin was helpless, “Don’t look anymore.”

Chen You rubbed his eyes and turned his eyeballs back to their original position. He was dazzled. He hoped so. It must be so.

Before going to bed, Chen You was still worried, so he leaned close to Chang Qin’s face and pulled his eyelids upwards.

Chang Qin let the young man do whatever he wanted.

Chen You asked his man seriously, “Do your eyes feel uncomfortable? How about your head? Does it hurt?”

“No, I’m fine.” Chang Qin grabbed the person in his arms and said, “Don’t think too much. Go to sleep.”

How could Chen You sleep? He hugged Chang Qin, smelled the scent he liked, and called the system. But before he could say anything, he was stopped by a ding sound.

System’s aunt Flo seemed to have left, and was in a good mood. To be more precise, he was in such a good mood that he wanted to sing.

“A new function has just been released, and it is currently performing a full anti-virus scan. The data should be restored soon.”

Chen You said, “I no longer believe you.”

System said, “Let’s see the results.”

“Do you still remember your goal?”

Chen You felt the system was strange. He said, “Go back home. I remember.”

System said, “Very good. Keep it up!”

Chen You called out to it, “Tell me, can numbers appear in a person’s eyes?”

System said yes, “It’s in science fiction movies.”

Chen You, “…Good night.”

In a daze, Chen You seemed to hear a voice in his ear, saying in a promising tone, “I will go with you.”

The next day, Chang Qin took Chen You back to City M, packed his clothes, and went to Wu Wuwu’s.
