Chapter 196. The End
Arc E: Extra(END).
In April, there is a lot of rain, which is lingering and never-ending, unlike the decisive rain of summer, which comes heavily and leaves without hesitation.
Chen You was lounging lazily in a rocking chair on the balcony, listening to the program. The host’s voice was very gentle, and he could talk about all aspects of life with such eloquence.
This was selected by Chen You from countless radio programs on Earth. He directly copied the data, uploaded it to the main program’s domain, and after writing and configuring the settings, the program was simultaneously updated in District A.
Chen You felt that his behavior was an infringement of rights, which was wrong and detrimental to his character.
So Chen You unleashed the powerful and experienced veteran Li Yan, sending him to negotiate with the broadcasting station, follow the necessary procedures, and successfully sign the contract and acquire the broadcasting rights.
After listening to the first episode, the residents of District A had a particularly positive reaction. The host became a hot topic and quickly gained a loyal following. His voice was praised as the gentlest of all.
This was within Chen You’s expectations, most people are curious and interested in new things.
So it’s not surprising.
The show aired in District A for about a week, and other planets followed suit, closely imitating it.
Chen You used to spend his time after work sleeping or having intimate moments with Li Yan. Now, he’s dedicating one hour of that time every Friday to the show.
Li Yan spilled the vinegar jar, and the house was filled with a pungent smell of vinegar.
Unfortunately, Chen You was only listening through a small screen window on the central network, not a physical radio, so Li Yan couldn’t throw it in the trash can.
The aroma of cake wafted over, bringing Chen You back to his senses. As if injected with a shot of adrenaline, he immediately perked up.
Li Yan brought over a fruit pudding cake, “Do you want to listen to the program, or do you want this?”
Chen You said, “I want both.”
Listening to the program while eating cake, the two don’t conflict at all. The combination is simply perfect.
Li Yan turned around.
Chen You said, “Leave the cake!”
Li Yan kept walking.
Chen You jumped off the rocking chair, hugged the man from behind, took the cake from his hand, and sat back down to eat it, “I was just bored, so I listened to a program, that’s all.”
Li Yan crossed his arms, leaned against the wall, and casually crossed his long legs, “Are you sure?”
Chen You scooped up some cake and stuffed it into his mouth, saying, “I’m sure.”
Li Yan snorted coldly, “You never miss a single Friday, and you listen to the live broadcast, not the replay. I’ve never seen you this serious when you’re doing things with me.”
Chen You said, “We do it every day…”
Li Yan raised an eyebrow, “So it’s not interesting anymore?”
Chen You glanced at the man, “You said it yourself, it has nothing to do with me.”
Li Yan’s forehead twitched.
Chen You’s tongue swept across the inside of his mouth, scraping the cream into his stomach. His buttocks ached faintly, sending him a warning sign to avoid spending the entire night soaking in the water.
“Not boring. I can stare at and study even a single hair of yours for half a day.”
Li Yan’s breathing deepened slightly, and his expression remained largely unchanged, “So, have you discovered anything?”
Chen You licked the cream off his lips, “Nothing has been studied yet.”
Li Yan’s gaze followed the movement of his tongue, and he said in a hoarse voice, “Let’s go, let’s go to the room to study it now.”
Chen You held onto the spoon tightly, saying, “Let me finish my cake first.”
Li Yan picked up Chen You and said, “Be good, eat after you’ve finished your study.”
After finishing the study, Chen You didn’t even have the strength to drink water, let alone eat cake, so he just lay down on Li Yan and fell asleep.
When he woke up, it was the next day, and the rain was still falling.
After washing up, Chen You walked to the study in his slippers and asked Li Yan, “The cake from yesterday wasn’t finished, did you throw it away?”
He was very excited and cared deeply about that cake, which he had waited a whole week for, “Wasting food is shameful, you know that, and that’s something we absolutely don’t allow in our family.”
Li Yan was reading a book, and casually stated the fact, “I ate it.”
“……”
Like a bolt from the blue, Chen You walked around the desk, staring down at his stomach, and said, “You owe me.”
Li Yan said, “It’s all gone. It’s your own fault for sleeping in.”
Sleeping in? He was clearly exhausted and had collapsed from fatigue. Chen You, displeased, took the book from the man’s hand.
Li Yan stopped teasing him, “There’s some in the kitchen.”
Chen You immediately ran out.
The young man’s figure was like a gust of wind, Li Yan couldn’t catch him. He sighed, wondering why someone who ate so much and wasn’t picky about food couldn’t gain weight.
Even lost two pounds recently.
Chen You was eating cake on the balcony, listening to program replays, and occasionally glancing at the rain outside the window, feeling relaxed and happy.
Coincidentally, the radio host was a character who had appeared in one of his assessment worlds一Sheng Jing.
In Shenzhen, on Earth, Sheng Jing has a great voice, god gifted.
Unlike Chen You’s assessment of the world, Sheng Jing is not an orphan. He has parents who both teach at a high school, and the family is well-off.
As for Sheng Guang, he was no longer the privileged young master who wore white clothes and lived a life of luxury. His parents had died early, and he lived with his grandmother. After his grandmother passed away, he was all alone.
The world is so big, yet so small. Sheng Guang and Sheng Jing actually work at the same broadcasting station. He’s a cameraman, completely unrelated to Sheng Jing, and they’re just colleagues who barely exchange a few words.
There is no Sheng Xia, because that is Chen You himself, and the related plots are all made up by himself.
When Chen You went to Shenzhen, he saw Sheng Jing, who had a fair-skinned hand resting on his arm, belonging to his girlfriend. They looked like a very well-matched couple.
He was probably bored, so he followed Sheng Jing and that’s when he discovered that Sheng Guang was spying on him and taking pictures with a camera.
The relationship between those two in the real world is exactly the opposite of what Chen You set up.
Deeply burying his inner emotions, feeling that his thoughts were incredibly filthy, pathetic, and miserable, this person transformed into Sheng Guang. The walls of his room were covered with photos of Sheng Jing, his love was twisted, obsessive, and at the same time, desperate.
Quite interesting.
Although it is said that life imitates art, life is not an art.
Chen You saw Sheng Jing a second time on the street, with Sheng Guang following behind, looking ingratiating.
Sheng Jing remained indifferent with a cold expression, while Sheng Guang smiled broadly, appearing humble to the point of being insignificant, but he was willing to do so.
Like strangers, Chen You brushed past them, in fact, they were indeed strangers.
He will still continue listening to the program.
Chen You also enjoys the stories shared by the audience. Listening to them allows him to fill in the gaps in other people’s lives through their stories, and he can even write them down and put them into a virtual world in the main program’s domain, providing them to the hosts as options.
After listening to the program, Chen You ate his cake and took a nap. His days were still the same as before, neither shorter nor longer, but they were no longer so boring, and he even felt that there wasn’t enough time.
On the 29th day of the year, the central authorities issued a notice stating that for the next fifteen days, all aircraft are only permitted to operate during the daytime, and night flights are prohibited.
People were filled with doubt about the announcement and also wondered if any activities would take place.
On New Year’s Eve, as night fell over the entire District A, and people were busy with their New Year’s Eve dinners, suddenly dazzling flowers bloomed in the air.
Chen You looked out the window, the fireworks were quite beautiful, and it was worth the effort he had put in to choose them.
There were sounds of pots and pans coming from the kitchen. Mr. Li was busy preparing the New Year’s Eve dinner. Although there were only two people in the family, plus a smart yellow puppy, they weren’t going to settle for anything less than a proper feast.
After paying New Year’s respects to his relatives and friends, Chen You went to help Li Yan.
The kitchen was filled with a wonderful aroma. He wasn’t hungry at first, but after taking a whiff of the fragrance, he felt hungry.
Chen You then took a pink teddy bear apron and hung it around his neck, asking Li Yan to tie the strap at the back for him.
Li Yan took some time to get it done for him.
Chen You steadfastly guarded the pot of braised pork hock, taking a spoonful of broth every now and then to taste it, it was so delicious it made his tongue tingle.
After Li Yan finished cooking two stir-fries, the person next to him was still there, “No need to add salt.”
Chen You turned his head, “You’re cutting it?”
Li Yan said no, and then said in a serious tone, “I don’t know how much saliva you dripped from your mouth.”
Chen You, “…”
Li Yan put the stir-fried pork with eggs and vegetables onto a plate, “You didn’t eat meat before.”
Chen You said, “The past and the present are not the same thing. We need to distinguish between them, and you are the line that makes that distinction.”
Li Yan was very satisfied with this answer, so he pulled Chen You into his arms, kissed him for about twenty minutes, then turned him over and leaned down to kiss him again.
Chen You braced himself on the counter with both hands, it was the two large pieces of pork hock in the pot that gave him strength, preventing his legs from buckling and causing him to kneel on the ground.
It was around nine o’clock when they started eating.
Chen You picked up the yellow puppy and put it on a chair. He sat down next to it, with Li Yan to his right.
Li Yan poured two glasses of red wine, giving one to Chen You, and glanced at the smart dog out of the corner of his eye, asking, “Why did you bring it up here?”
Chen You picked up a piece of pork skin from the pork hock with his chopsticks and ate it. It melted in his mouth. He swallowed and went to get more, “You two are XiongDi. According to your birth time, you are its DaGe.”
Li Yan, “…”
As Chen You ate, he said, “I’ll set it up later so it can call you Ge, wouldn’t that be great? It would make the two XiongDi get along well.”
“There’s a saying, all are from the same root…'”
Li Yan took a sip of wine, glanced at the young man who couldn’t think of a next sentence, and said, “Eat more pork hock.”
Just as Chen You was about to speak, he heard the man’s voice, “This is the last time I’m cooking for you. There won’t be a next time.”
He pretended to be thinking seriously, “Well, I’ve been thinking about it, and fundamentally, you’re different from a smart dog. You’re unique.”
The pork hock was saved.
Chen You raised his glass, “Mr. Li, I wish you good health and all the best in the new year.”
Li Yan accepted the New Year’s greeting and returned it, “Mrs. Li, I wish you more laughter and less trouble in the new year.”
Chen You said, “My only problem is that you take too long with me.”
Li Yan stroked the rim of the cup, a slight smile playing on his lips, and said softly, “I won’t bother you for the entire next year.”
Chen You was stunned. A whole year? Really? That’s too long. He definitely wouldn’t be able to hold back, “I didn’t say you shouldn’t do it at all. I meant to shorten the duration. A little is fun, too much is harmful.”
Li Yan shrugged, “In my opinion, there’s no such thing as ‘quickie’.”
Chen You gritted his teeth and said, “Never mind what I said.”
Li Yan raised an eyebrow, “Which sentence?”
Forced into a corner, Chen You then resorted to his authority as the head of the family, “Li Yan, I am your master. Aren’t you afraid I’ll throw you into hibernation space if you keep toying with me like this?”
Li Yan said, “I’m scared, I’m terrified.”
Chen You, “…”
His face darkened, “I’m really angry.”
Li Yan reached for the pork hock with his chopsticks and asked, “Isn’t there a bit too much sugar in it?”
Chen You’s thoughts were instantly diverted, and his angry expression didn’t last even a minute, “Really? I’m eating it just fine. I like sweets.”
Li Yan smiled and shook his head, ruffled the young man’s hair, and then couldn’t help but turn him around and kiss his lips.
After the New Year, Chen You prepared several more red envelopes, which he would send out before the Lantern Festival. Since the dates for the wedding were all very close together, he and Li Yan packed their bags and went to Earth.
The sixth day of the New Year is Pang Yilong’s wedding day.
The restaurant’s business was getting better and better, and it was growing bigger and bigger. Pang Yilong received attention from the outside world, praise and adulation from the media, flattery from relatives, and was featured in magazines many times. He was named a young talent. He knew in his heart that without Chen You, he would just be a low-level worker.
Forget about luxury homes and cars, he hesitated for a long time even when buying a mobile phone.
Pang Yilong felt grateful to Chen You, considering him both a benefactor and a friend. He agreed with his wife’s words that Chen You was a lucky person in his life.
The wedding was Western-style, and the venue was an island where it was spring-like all year round and flowers were in full bloom.
Since the bride was two months pregnant and experiencing severe morning sickness, the process was kept simple to avoid tiring her out.
Pang Yilong’s gaze kept scanning the surroundings, as if waiting for someone. His eyes suddenly stopped at a certain point, and the businesslike expression in his smile disappeared, replaced by genuine, pure happiness.
After exchanging greetings with a few business acquaintances, Pang Yilong quickly walked over and said, “I thought you weren’t going to come.” He had checked this person’s information, including Li Yan’s, but found absolutely nothing. It was as if they weren’t from this planet, which was absurd. He was more inclined to believe that their identities were not simple, which was why he couldn’t find any information about them.
Chen You smiled, “I told you, I would definitely come to your wedding.”
Pang Yilong hugged Chen You and patted him on the back, “Thank you.” There were actually many things he wanted to say, but they all seemed meaningless and even pretentious and nagging.
Chen You clapped twice and said, “Happy wedding.”
Mr. Li pulled his wife to his side and said, “Alright.”
Pang Yilong rolled his eyes. This guy hadn’t changed at all, his possessiveness towards Chen You was terrifyingly strong.
Weddings are all pretty much the same, with guests from all walks of life, family members from both sides, adorable flower girls and boys, and a quick-witted MC. The atmosphere throughout the entire event was wonderful.
After exchanging vows and sharing a kiss, the newlyweds excitedly completed the most sacred ceremony amidst enthusiastic applause, stepping into the marriage hall that belonged to them, witnessed by their family and friends.
After attending Pang Yilong’s wedding, Chen You went to Chengdu the next day.
Wang Yao held his sons’ one-month celebration. His wife gave him two sons in one go, which was equivalent to what others might achieve in two attempts. He already had two pairs of cotton-padded trousers, and he wanted a warm little cotton-padded jacket to wear. He said they would see how things went in the future, as they were both still young and had a long life ahead of them.
Zheng Shuai and Wang Yao are childhood friends. He was also there that day, wearing a hat, black-rimmed glasses, and a black coat. He looked like a typical artsy young man. He is currently in a long-term relationship, at a moderate pace, and presumably has his own plans.
Chen You traveled from city to city, from planet to planet. Chen Weidong and his wife, Chen LaoYe, Xiao Langgou, Xia Hong, Dr. Zhou, Young Master Hu, Shan Liang… Everyone had their own life. No one arranged or set it up for them. They were all in control of their own lives, and they were all doing well.
After the Lantern Festival, the pace of life slowed down.
Chen You’s office has transformed from a dark and gloomy palace into a lush forest. He basks in the sunlight, working with his legs crossed. This is probably the most comfortable thing he does besides working with Li Yan.
【Master, you’re becoming warmer and warmer. Xiao Lu really want to live inside your body. 】
“……”
Chen You grabbed the work badge and looked at the stamp on it, “Did you see something?”
【Xiao Lu didn’t mean to watch it, it’s just that you were in a hurry when you left work one time and didn’t turn off the screen. 】
Chen You searched his memory.
【It was absolutely amazing, really! Xiao Lu never imagined there could be such a great movie. The handsome guys in it were fantastic, but of course, Master is the best one of all! 】
Chen You sighed and said, “You’re just a string of code, you can’t get hard, what’s so interesting about that?”
【Although Xiao Lu can’t get hard, Xiao Lu has a heart that wants to get hard. 】
“That’s so touching, your Master was almost moved to tears.”
【……】
Chen You received a message from system number 444. After opening it, he looked at the code and learned that the new recruit under Old 4 had taken on a host with extremely strange pain nerves and was born unable to laugh.
Old 4 was feeling suspicious, so he asked Chen You, if this could be another alt account created by some high-ranking official?
Chen You retrieved all the host’s data. The first world was actually a rural village in a certain era. The mission was to find the murderer. Even a small cut on the mouth could cause the host to turn pale and be unable to straighten up. This physique was indeed very special.
Such a unique person should be cherished.
Although Chen You had replied that he had not received any notification from that side, and the main program domain had not found any clues, Si Sisi still dared not take any chance. He had been a fool once before and really did not want to be a fool a second time.
Therefore, Si Sisi entrusted the host to a newcomer to receive.
A few days later, Chen You received instructions from the main program to take away all the host’s data and to make sure all backups were deleted.
When Si Sisi happened to come and ask, he simply told him.
Sure enough, there was a problem, Si Sisi said. Luckily, he had the foresight not to seize the opportunity to make a fool of himself.
Three years later, only Chen You and Li Yan were still living in the house.
Li Yan started a company, and he was very strict in selecting employees. They were all excellent talents who would not cause trouble and did not have any trivial matters at home, so he was a very relaxed boss.
Chen You didn’t care. With the money he had earned so far, he and Li Yan could never spend it all in several lifetimes, not to mention that he would continue to earn it.
However, as Li Yan said, their lives are much longer than ordinary people’s, so they need to have something to do.
Just as autumn began, a major event occurred on the Tianlan Star, causing a sensation among several surrounding planets.
Bai Yin, the head of the Bai family and the ruler of Tianlan Star, married Si Sisi, the only son of the Si family.
Chen You and Li Yan were invited to go and presented a generous gift.
As an old friend, Wu Wuwu was also on the invitation list. He still had that scholarly air about him, accompanied by his family.
Among the other system workers, several came with their families but were unaware that the young master of the Si family was their colleague, let alone that their superior had also come.
Every planet has its own characteristics and customs.
The wedding on the Tianlan Star was held at night, when the sky was filled with stars, like tiny, luminous pearls playfully and adorably embedded in the dark night sky.
Chen You noticed that the distribution of stars in the sky was unusual. After investigating, he learned that 520 stars had been plucked by Bai Yin and given to Si Sisi in their bridal chamber.
He clicked his tongue, “Bai Yin is quite romantic.”
Li Yan put one hand in his pocket and pulled Chen You with the other, saying, “I’ll pluck the moon for you.”
Chen You’s eye twitched, “Please don’t. I’ve reconfigured everything. If you remove the moon, my database will crash. Working overtime is tiring. I don’t want to work overtime anymore.”
Li Yan, “…”
That night, Chen You didn’t see Si Sisi. He guessed he was shy, or at least that’s what he thought. Later, he heard a different version of the story, that he had run away, though the specific reasons were unclear.
Later, the person in question told Chen You that he and Bai Yin got stuck at a crucial moment, each thinking the other was the bottom.
That’s awkward.
After a period of stalemate, Si Sisi made a first move, pinning Bai Yin down and forcibly assaulting him, even knocking him unconscious. Fearing that the other party would retaliate upon waking up, he fled.
The above is Si Sisi’s version, but it is unsubstantiated and its authenticity is unknown.
Based on Chen You’s experience, the truth is the opposite.
It’s unclear when it started, but Si Sisi began contacting Chen You outside of work, treating him like a close DaGe, even though Chen You is actually much, much older than Si Sisi.
However, Chen You had no experience in being a confidant or DaGe.
Si Sisi sent a message, immediately complaining that Bai Yin liked to sleep sideways, and that Bai Yin smelled his pants every day. He caught Bai Yin smelling them right in front of him.
He talked on and on, and it was all about Bai Yin.
Chen You could almost feel Si Sisi’s bitterness overflowing from the screen, and he resisted the urge to wipe it away, “Get to the point.”
Here comes the crucial part of Si Sisi’s story, “As you know Bai Yin sews human skin together once a week…”
Chen You interrupted him, “I don’t know.”
Si Sisi was wearing a sweater the same color as his eyes, “Those tissues on the skin, you can feel them when you touch them with your hand, I don’t know how to describe it.”
Then don’t describe it. Chen You said, gagging, “I’m going to throw up for a bit and then I’ll come back.”
He came back after vomiting and said, “You can continue.”
Si Sisi asked, “Where was I?”
Chen You said, “Human skin.”
“Right, human skin.”
Si Sisi swallowed hard, “The skin needs to be soaked in a container for thirty minutes, then brushed with medicine before it can be sewn on.”
He picked up his cup and drank some water, his prominent Adam’s apple bobbing up and down. He took a breath and said, “You say, Bai Yin keeps them after skinning, is he sick?”
Chen You looked on with curiosity, “Hasn’t Bai Yin always been sick?”
Si Sisi’s face twitched, “So, why did things turn out this way between us?” They had agreed to a one-year trial period to see if they were compatible, and he had confidently declared that they were absolutely not a good match. And yet, this is how things ended up.
Chen You concluded, “You’re sick too.”
Si Sisi, “…”
Chen You said, “Madam Bai, let me remind you, you’re already married. A wife should follow her husband wherever he goes, whether he’s a chicken or a dog. You’ve married a pervert, so just follow the pervert.”
Si Sisi almost choked on his own saliva, the title Madam Bai was truly indescribable.
As for his wedding with Bai Yin, let’s not talk about that.
Chen You rummaged through the table, found a bag of chicken feet, took a bite and ate it, “You have to think of it this way, his family is your family. You can try to care for them with love.”
Si Sisi chuckled, “And then every day I say good morning to them, have breakfast, lunch, and dinner together, and say goodnight and see you tomorrow before bed?”
Chen You’s eyes welled up with tears from the spiciness of chicken feet, “It sounds so heartwarming. You have two mothers-in-law, be content.”
“…” Si Sisi retorted, “Speaking of which, Bai Yin’s stepmother’s skin is exceptionally white, as if it has been bleached, similar to the chicken feet in your hand.”
Chen You silently lowered the chicken feets.
At first, Si Sisi would visit Chen You once every six months, but gradually, then gradually it became every two or three months, and now it’s one or two times a week, with their conversations revolving around their life in the bedroom.
Si Sisi is experiencing internal heat and toothache because of anger.
Chen You, having just been given a generous amount of nutrient solution by Li Yan, had a healthy glow on his face, as if he could bloom into a vibrant flower at any moment, “He doesn’t know how, but you can teach him, can’t you?”
A suspicious blush rose on Si Sisi’s face, and after a long pause, he spat out a sentence through gritted teeth, “And I’m supposed to just know how?”
Chen You said, “…That’s a real shame.”
Meanwhile, two other men, each juggling multiple roles, were also communicating, having secretly connected with each other behind their wives’ backs.
Bai Yin never wasted time and asked directly, “How can I make him powerless to resist?”
Li Yan was also very direct, “From behind.”
Bai Yin frowned, “Is this all?”
Li Yan said calmly, “The key lies in your skills, you need to turn the tide.”
Bai Yin pondered the words ‘turned the tide’ that Li Yan had mentioned, and wondered how things would take a turn.
Li Yan recommended several movies.
Bai Yin accepted them all, saying, “Thank you.”
Footsteps came from the stairwell, and Chen You saw Li Yan coming downstairs, so he quickly said, “Let’s talk next time.”
At the last moment, Si Sisi didn’t forget to remind him, “Don’t forget my bonus.”
Chen You had nothing more to say.
If every staff member could have the same obsessive dedication to bonuses as Si Sisi, that would be great.
Li Yan’s voice interrupted Chen You, “Come out for a walk with me.”
Upon hearing this, Chen You kicked off his shoes and tucked his feet into the sofa, “It’s so cold outside, I’m not going.”
After checking, Li Yan said, “The outdoor temperature is now 20 degrees Celsius.”
Chen You said, “It’s only twenty degrees.”
“…” Li Yan picked him up from the sofa and said, “You’ve been cooped up at home all day, can’t even grow a single mushroom.”
Chen You blushed, as if remembering something.
A glint flashed in Li Yan’s eyes, and he smiled, “Want to eat mushrooms?”
Chen You shook his head, “I don’t want to.”
Li Yan placed him on the shoe cabinet and got him his shoes, saying, “I’ll let you eat your fill tonight.”
Chen You was even less inclined to go out.
He was half-dragged, half-carried to the garden by Li Yan, but after wandering around for a while, he still couldn’t cheer up, so he went out into the street.
This time of day is neither too early nor too late, falling into a rather awkward period. Office workers and students haven’t hit the streets yet, so there aren’t many pedestrians on the street.
Valentine’s Day is approaching, but District A doesn’t celebrate this holiday, so there won’t be any flower-selling girls or young ladies on the streets.
Chen You yawned, wanting to sleep, “I didn’t sleep last night.”
Li Yan said, “You’re not the only one who’s awake.”
Chen You yawned repeatedly, “My physical condition is different from yours. You’re not human, you can go a year without sleeping and be fine.”
Li Yan said, “You’re not an ordinary human either.”
Chen You said, “I am.”
Li Yan glanced at him and said, “Fine, you are a human without a heart, really too ordinary.”
Chen You’s lips twitched. He finally believed that one person could influence another. This man was particularly sarcastic now, yet he spoke in such a serious and earnest tone.
District A now has many more restaurants from around the world.
Because it was Chen You who chose it, he liked every kind of food or drink.
After eating two bowls of stinky tofu, Chen You’s health bar recovered to 50%. He could hold on a little longer and wanted to eat more, but Li Yan wouldn’t allow it, saying he couldn’t eat anymore.
Li Yan said slowly, “Have you forgotten the time you cried and told me that you couldn’t poop no matter what?”
Chen You blinked, “Is that so?”
Li Yan’s lips curled into a smirk, “What, wife, have you lost your memory?”
Chen You pretended to be dead, saying, “I don’t remember.”
Li Yan laughed, his handsome face becoming even more charming, but the words he uttered were extremely annoying, “It’s okay, I have backup data.”
Chen You’s expression changed several times. He frowned and said, “You’re being such a buzzkill. I can’t be with you anymore.”
Li Yan’s expression changed, and his voice deepened, “Then who do you want to be with?”
Chen You felt a chill run down his spine, “I haven’t thought it through.”
Li Yan narrowed his eyes, still smiling, his tone unchanged, yet it made people afraid to look him in the eye, “Then take your time to think about it. Until you’ve made up your mind, will you be with me or not?”
Chen You curled his lip and said, “I was just joking.”
Li Yan tapped his finger on the table, “This joke isn’t funny.”
Chen You said, “Then I won’t do it anymore.”
The chill emanating from Li Yan vanished, as if the cold person from just moments before had never been him, “Good boy.”
Chen You also knew that Li Yan had a sensitive spot, which was him. It was something that couldn’t be talked about, something even he, the person involved, couldn’t touch upon.
Li Yan’s wish is that they can be together for all eternity.
One evening, Chen You suddenly appeared at the company.
The receptionist posted the news in the group chat, and soon the entire company knew about it, flooding the group with messages.
“Holy crap, the boss’s wife’s here!” “Where? Where?” “He’s definitely here to check up on things. Go tell the boss!” “Tell him my ass! The boss isn’t doing anything shady!” “Yeah, everyone calm down and get back to work.”
In front of the company’s employees, Chen You always maintained a cold and aloof image, he was a boss’wife who kept everyone at arm’s length.
Chen You today was the same as usual, not joking around or being overly cheerful, simply saying, “Thank you all for your hard work.”
Everyone quickly said it wasn’t that difficult.
Their company is different from other companies, and the boss is even more of an exception. He never personally meets with female clients, nor does he allow male clients to get too close. At most, he’ll shake hands; anything beyond that is impossible. Business dinners are acceptable, but they must end before 9 PM, and he goes home every day to be with his wife.
Look at that, that’s what a model good man is like.
The female employees in the company all use the boss as a role model, but as a result, none of them have found a partner.
Among the male employees, even the gay ones consider the boss their role model, which has led to an increase in the number of single people in the company year by year. It’s terrifying. If this continues, everyone will probably have to find partners within the company.
In the office, Li Yan was flipping through documents and signing them. When he saw the person enter, his pen left a black ink dot on the paper.
“Why did you come here?”
Chen You smiled, “I’m picking you up from work.”
As if struck by lightning, Li Yan abruptly stood up, strode over, and placed his hand on Chen You’s forehead, “No fever.”
Chen You said, “Of course not.”
Li Yan asked, “Have you finished all the food, snacks, and desserts I left for you?”
Chen You said, “There’s still some left.”
Li Yan stared down at the young man. If he wasn’t hungry, then it must be something else. He pondered for a moment and said, “You didn’t break anything in the house, did you?”
Making amends after making a mistake is Chen You’s style.
Chen You said, “Mr. Li, it seems you have quite a misunderstanding about me.”
Li Yan pinched his chin and gently stroked it, “Tell me, your man can fix anything.”
“No, really. I’m not ADHD. I’m very well-behaved at home and can sleep for hours at a time.” Chen You pulled out the tie from the man’s suit, “Because I’ve never done this before, that’s why I have to do it now. I’ll take things one step at a time.”
Li Yan remained silent.
Chen You said, “Are you touched?”
Li Yan’s eyes were deep, “Hmm.”
Chen You looked at the man, “Want to cry? Here’s a shoulder to lean on.”
Li Yan looked over as well, “I miss you.”
He pinned Chen You against the desk, held him in his arms, and bent down to kiss him.
Chen You draped his arm around Li Yan’s neck, slowly kissed him, then pulled away a little, their eyes met, and he kissed him again.
Outside the office door, the secretary glanced at his watch. He should just leave, the door wouldn’t be open for several hours.
When Chen You and Li Yan came out, all the company’s employees had already gone home.
The night was a little enchanting, and Chen You’s buttocks were a little sore. After returning home, he went straight to his room and slept for two days straight.
After that first time, Li Yan looked forward to seeing Chen You at the company so he could pick him up and take him home.
Chen You is a lazy person. Although he has changed a lot, one thing remains the same, he doesn’t like to go out. However, he still persists.
Because he enjoyed the joy that Li Yan showed in his eyes the moment he saw him.
Chen You spent some time creating another robot, Xiaojin, after Li Yan. He also set up a program that Xiaojin would call him Baba and Li Yan Mama.
When Li Yan heard the robot call him Mama, his face turned ashen, and he almost kicked it.
Chen You patted the robot, giving it encouragement.
Li Yan suddenly laughed, the curve of which was chilling, “Mama and Baba are going. You can play by yourself.”
As he spoke, he carried Chen You upstairs.
The next day, Chen You changed the settings, replacing Mama with Daddy.
Xiaojin’s design differs slightly from the smart yellow dog. Following internal commands, it will wander around the house and even go to the garden to prune, water, and fertilize the plants.
In short, it has many functions and is a very powerful and obedient robot.
With Xiaojin around, Chen You became even lazier. Whenever he was thirsty, hungry, or full, he would look for Xiaojin. Even when he needed to go to the toilet, he would call out, “Xiaojin, sing 《Nunchucks》 for Baba, and do the breakdancing moves too, the ones you did last time!”
And so this scene unfolded, a tiny robot wearing a black hat was singing Heng heng hei hei while waving its arms and legs.
The young man squatted on the toilet, humming a tune while resting his chin on his hand, and even gesturing with his hands, “Xiaojin, you dance so well.”
Encouraged by the Master, the robot took off, did a somersault, landed back on the ground, braced itself with one hand, and began to spin.
Chen You clapped his hands, “Marvelous !”
After finishing his work, Li Yan knocked on the door, “Come out quickly. Squatting for too long can cause hemorrhoids.”
Chen You said, “I didn’t squat long.”
Li Yan’s voice was stern, “No? You’ve been squatting for an hour and twenty minutes.”
Chen You was surprised, “Really?”
He felt like he had just walked in, “Xiaojin, how long have I been squatting here?”
The robot spoke in a mechanical voice, “One hour, twenty-one minutes, sixteen seconds.”
“It’s been that long, really. You really shouldn’t listen to music while using the toilet.”
When Chen You got up, he realized his legs were numb. He called Xiaojin over, supported its shoulders, and slowly went out.
Li Yan carried the robot out, saying, “Don’t let it go into the toilet next time.”
Chen You sat on the bed and massaged his legs, “Why?”
Li Yan looked down at the young man and said, “You’ve taken your pants off.”
Chen You was speechless, “Xiaojin is just a robot. It has no independent consciousness. It sees what it sees, but it doesn’t understand what it is.”
Li Yan said, “It doesn’t exist now, but who knows when it might appear.”
Chen You’s eyelids twitched. Remembering the past of the person in front of him, wasn’t that how it came about? “Okay.”
From then on, Chen You checked the robot’s brain data every day. If it could develop consciousness, it meant that it was the other party’s good fortune, and he would not delete it.
However, things are fine as they are now.
Life is life, full of mundane details, and it’s usually not as dramatic, life-or-death, or heart-wrenching as a script. There are exceptions, though, that’s a very small minority.
Some couples go their separate ways along the way, unable to share the same pot of rice. Some even become two separate families after most of their lives have passed. Those who can live a peaceful and stable life are already blessed by their past lives.
Chen You and Li Yan have already lived through several lifetimes, and their journey to the end is still far off.
When Chen You woke up in the morning, before even opening his eyes, he touched Li Yan’s arm and moved into his arms.
Li Yan ruffled Chen You’s hair and placed a kiss on his dark hair, “Good morning, wife.”
Chen You crossed his long legs and hooked them around Li Yan’s waist, “Sleep with me a little longer.”
Li Yan buried his face in the neck of the person in his arms, “Okay.”
They have a long life ahead of them, but they will no longer be lonely, isolated, or lost, because they have each other and will stay together forever.
