In July, three incidents happened in T City, which became the talk of the town.
What’s a bit interesting is that the timing of the three events is very close together, as if God had arranged them early and it gave people a lot of fun to watch one after another.
The first thing was that on the night of the third day of the lunar new year, a factory in the north of the city exploded. The factory had been abandoned for many years. It had long been rumored that it would be taken away by the government for redevelopment. The rumors that are passed down every year are just like the truth, which boss is interested in it, how much money it will cost, and what hospital or supermarket should be built, but no actual action is seen every year.
Just left there, it became a place for wild dogs and homeless people to stay.
When the factory exploded, people felt the ground under their feet and the beams above their heads tremble. They ran out in panic, stretched their necks and looked in one direction. They were so frightened that they didn’t even whisper.
The fire was burning, the sky was red.
The fire kept burning, and no one had any idea how long it lasted, but everyone was frightened and started biting their ears in shock, wondering what caused the explosion, whether there was anyone inside, or whether they were dead or not.
Until the second incident happened, people’s self-righteous conjectures were completely denied, and a corner of the truth was so straightforwardly laid out in front of them.
The New Century project was suspended, and Qiu Tao, one of the investors, died in the explosion. He had committed corruption, bribery, and intentional homicide, and all the properties under his name were confiscated.
The police confirmed that a certain official was arrested on suspicion of the explosion.
There were many casualties that night. After verification, it was found that they were all Qiu Tao’s men. He took so many people to the warehouse behind the factory and equipped them with guns. It was obvious that he had evil intentions.
The police did not disclose the cause and effect of the whole incident to the public, and the common people talked a lot, thinking that most likely it was an internal struggle in the officialdom, so they can’t lift the fig leaf, otherwise it would be very embarrassing.
Director Nie was the protagonist of the third incident, which is also the hottest topic. Most of people’s daily saliva and brain cells are contributed to his glorious deeds.
Don’t know who released the rumor, saying that Qiu Tao and Nie Wenyuan, long-time Xiongdi turned against each other because of their own selfishness, and the other sent someone to kidnap Nie Wenyuan’s nephew in order to get rid of him.
As for why people like Nie Wenyuan would go to the appointment, it’s because he and his nephew are in love, and they are homosexual.
Jiujiu and nephew turned out to not be blood related. This involved a past event decades ago, and the memories of the older generation in T city were turned upside down.
People are less disgusted, relative or not, that’s so important.
If it is a relative, then it will be labeled with a set of moral and ethical rhetoric, and it will be scorned by others for a long time, and every time it is thought about, it will make them spit, but if it is not a relative, then it doesn’t matter. The elder and junior just fell in love with each other.
The report also stated that the police dug out Nie Wenyuan, his nephew Chen Yu, and Qiu Tao from the rubble three hours after the incident. The three of them were all squeezed under the cramped building materials.
Qiu Tao’s body fell next to Chen Yu, who was pressing Nie Wenyuan tightly. When this report appeared, people couldn’t help but speculate that Nie Wenyuan’s nephew protected him with his life when the explosion occurred.
Qiu Tao, for some unknown reason, rushed forward to block them.
People tend to find out about Qiu Tao’s conscience.
However, no one knows the real reason why Qiu Tao and Nie Wenyuan turned against each other.
Strangely, the conditions of Chen Yu’s body told the medical staff that he died at the moment of the explosion, and the fatal injury was the slender sharp weapon on the left side of the head.
But what shocked the medical staff was that Chen Yu was not dead, he was still alive, truly alive.
As a result, reports about medical miracles appeared overwhelmingly in people’s field of vision. They didn’t understand the professional vocabulary of medicine, and they only knew that Chen Yu had a great fate.
A year later, in November, news spread that a certain popular male singer in China was stabbed by his boyfriend at the peak of his career. It changed people’s hatred and resistance towards homosexuality at an unimaginable speed. It spread like an explosion throughout the streets and alleys, making everyone aware of it.
No one has the intention to explore whether the report is false or whether the person involved can survive the serious injuries. They just think that homosexuality is terrible, disgusting, and a complete mental illness. It is best to lock them up for a lifetime, and not to be released to harm others.
Those people even rejected “The Sound of the Waves”, as if it had become gay, and the “The Sound of the Waves” no longer exists.
The male singer quickly withdrew from the music business to recover from his injuries. Later, the reports of many media became more serious, and began to slowly develop towards the objective facts, proving that everything was fabricated out of nothing, but people did not believe it subjectively, and only believed the original report.
In their view, homosexuality means harboring evil intentions, and people must be treated as soon as possible, whether by taking medicine or electric shock.
While people were mocking the male singer, the names of those Jiujiu and nephew pop out of their mouth, wondering what happened to them, both are probably dead.
The winter in City B is much colder than that in City T. The first snow fell early, and after that there were blizzards for several days. It finally cleared up, and it was so cold that even taking a breath could give one frostbite in their lungs.
The small European-style building was covered with white snow, and the trees in the yard were also white. The branches were bent down. Suddenly a gust of wind blew by, and the branches trembled, causing snow to fall.
Among the white, there is a plum blossom tree, blooming in the wind, with gorgeous flowers, lonely and tenacious.
Huang Dan picked two plum blossoms and stuffed them into his pockets, creaking and stepping on the thick snow to return to the house. He exhaled, took off his cold coat, and hung it on the hook behind the door.
The silence in the hall was disrupted. Huang dan put on his slippers, and poured a glass of water and held it in his palm, leaning his back against the table, a little distracted.
Huang Dan could vividly remember the events of that day, including the ashes in his mouth and nose, thick smoke, the pain of eardrums being shattered, snot, tears, blood, severe pain, and panicked cries, and then he lost consciousness.
It is not a miracle that Huang Dan is not dead at all. The structure of his body is no different from that of ordinary people. There is nothing special about it. The reason is only known to him. It is not time to leave this world yet.
The state wants to send Huang Dan to a research institute for research. Having the sensation of still alive after being completely dead, his value is unprecedented. There must be something in him that can make a huge breakthrough in medicine.
Huang Dan was taken away for a few days before being released.
Because Nie Wenyuan woke up.
Huang Dan didn’t ask how Nie Wenyuan got him out, and how many contacts and financial resources he had used. He was more concerned about Nie Wenyuan’s health and hoped that he could recover as before.
But Nie Wenyuan is different from Huang Dan. He doesn’t have immortality in a certain sense, which could be called a spell bestowed by God, so after his treatment time passed, he was undoubtedly fighting with the god of death.
Nie Wenyuan suffered gunshot wounds to one arm and one leg. When he was pushed to the ground by Huang Dan, a large piece of broken iron was inserted into his back. He won against death with his terrible will and desire to live. Although the wound healed slowly, it left serious trauma.
The doctor has no other treatment method but to slowly nurse him back to health.
Huang Dan was self-aware, and for the sake of Nie Wenyuan’s health, he suggested hiring someone.
Nie Wenyuan did not agree.
Huang Dan knew what Nie Wenyuan was thinking. Their relationship was no longer a secret. Outsiders couldn’t understand or accept it.
If the mouth is on other people’s faces, they can’t control whether it’s spraying water or feces. The only thing they can do is to keep themselves far away so that they don’t get dirty, and preferably not to hear it.
Huang Dan understood in his heart that Nie Wenyuan knew his non-competitive nature, and also about not so good communication skills, and so can’t deal with those set of ways of the world, and was afraid that he would be wronged.
He forgot to close the door, and a cold wind wrapped in snowflakes blew in. Huang Dan returned to his thoughts, put down the water glass and closed the door tightly. He took the water glass and sat on the sofa, blew away the floating hot air, and lowered his head to take a sip of water.
Now Huang Dan can’t let himself get hurt, even if it’s burnt, he must take good care of himself because he has to take care of Nie Wenyuan.
Huang Dan touched the left side of his head, and felt a hollow with his fingertips. He felt lingering fear. Fortunately, it was not time to leave, otherwise he would have died on Nie Wenyuan’s body at that time.
Thinking back now, Huang Dan remembers that when his head was injured, Nie Wenyuan looked at him, not a single tear flowed from his eyes, his face was covered with his blood, but he was crying.
It’s better not to recall what happened that day, it’s uncomfortable.
Nie Wenyuan didn’t know that Huang Dan would not die, he didn’t make things difficult for his two sons because of Qiu Tao’s final choice.
Things have already returned dirt to dirt, dust to dust.
His head hurt a little, Huang Dan rubbed it with one hand. He filled in the targets for this time. There was a large row, and filled in all the people he had contacted. There were more people than before. This was the first time Huang Dan had experienced that feeling. He probably felt that his failure was a foregone conclusion, so he was fearless.
Huang Dan made wild guesses and got three of them right, two of them were Qiu Tao’s subordinates, whose names had been verified by Nie Wenyuan, and the remaining one was Liu Quanwu.
It stands to reason that they are all Qiu Tao’s people, find one, and the others should be able to be dragged out. Unexpectedly, those people were all hired thugs trained by Qiu Tao. Not only did they know nothing about each other, they didn’t even know who they were.
Nie Wenyuan spent a lot of trouble, and it took more than half a year to find out two.
Huang Dan didn’t know what was going to happen next. He didn’t even think about what punishment he would face if he failed the mission, whether it would be difficult, and whether he could return to the real world. If he could spend one day with Nie Wenyuan, he would have a happy day.
The landline next to him rang, and Huang Dan leaned over to pick up the receiver. It was Zhou Weiwei’s voice on the other end.
At the beginning, the matter of Huang Dan and Nie Wenyuan was widely circulated, and everyone around avoided it. Nie Youxiang never showed up, but Nie Xiuqin and her daughter came, without any disgust or contempt.
However, Zhou Weiwei looked at Huang Dan with hostility and unwillingness.
Huang Dan knew Zhou Weiwei’s thoughts about Nie Wenyuan. He had talked with Zhou Weiwei and told her clearly that Nie Wenyuan was his, always had been, and always would be, and it would not change.
Zhou Weiwei appeared in front of Huang Dan again more than two months later. The emotions in her eyes were gone. Maybe they had really disappeared, or they were hidden deeper.
Huang Dan didn’t talk about Nie Wenyuan with Zhou Weiwei anymore, and there was no way a third person would intervene in their relationship. He had confidence in that.
Listening to Zhou Weiwei asking about Nie Wenyuan on the phone, Huang Dan leaned back a little, leaned on the sofa and said, “He’s still sleeping.”
Zhou Weiwei asked softly, “Is it convenient for me to come with my mom tomorrow?”
Huang Dan said it was convenient, “The snow is a bit heavy, so please pay attention on the road, and call me if you need anything.”
This sentence is very common in the world of human feelings, and there are too many places to use it. They are very similar, with elements of politeness and concern in them, which makes people feel comfortable listening to them.
In the past, Huang Dan couldn’t have been able to say it, couldn’t think of it, but now he can.
Everyone will grow up. Huang Dan’s way of growing up is quite different and he also grew up a little late. There are many people who have accompanied him and helped him grow, and he is very grateful to them
Sometimes it’s like this, if one doesn’t experience it, don’t feel it, and they would never know what it is.
Zhou Weiwei asked for permission, and her tone became more relaxed, “My mom picked a lot of persimmons, and I said you don’t like eating them, but she didn’t listen to my advice and insisted on picking them. She packed a big bag and tied the mouth tightly.”
Huang Dan said, “I like to eat it very much.”
Zhou Weiwei was slightly stunned. She talked about the past in a half-joking tone, “Really, I remember you didn’t like to eat it before and thought it tasted bad. I gave you one, but you threw it in the gutter in front of the door. I was so angry that I didn’t talk to you for several days.”
Huang Dan said, “People change.”
These words touched some people and things, and the people on both ends of the phone fell silent.
Life is full of too many variables, and there are countless trials and difficulties on the road. Some people deviate from the original track and reach a dead end.
There was another voice on Zhou Weiwei’s end, it was Nie Xiuqin, calling her to eat. She smiled and said, “My mom cooked a pot of taro and ate it every day for the past few days. I felt like throwing up after eating it, and she even packed a lot of it for you.”
Huang Dan said, “Taro is very heavy.”
Zhou Weiwei said it was okay, “A Bobo I knew happened to be going to the city to buy some goods. My mother and I hitched a ride with him. Just because it’s convenient, my mom only brought some of this and a little of that”
Huang Dan asked, “How about going back?”
Zhou Weiwei said on the other end of the phone, “Bobo will go back that afternoon. We have agreed with him. There will be no problem.”
Huang Dan frowned when he heard her words, “BiaoJie, you are lying.”
Zhou Weiwei was a little speechless. She smiled and sighed, “Xiao Yu, your current smartness is really similar to that of Jiujiu. That’s what, how do you say it?”
Huang Dan said, “The one who is close to vermilion is red, and the one who is close to ink is black.”
Zhou Weiwei said several things in a row, “Won’t do, I’ll go over and ask Jiujiu for some books to bring back to read, or I won’t be able to keep up with you.”
Huang Dan was not led away by her, “Bobo will go back the day after tomorrow, or the day after day after tomorrow?”
Zhou Weiwei said it was the day after tomorrow, “He said that when driving in the snow, he always felt nervous and much more tired than usual, so he had to stay in the city for one night.”
Huang Dan guessed, “The hotel is not as convenient as home, there are quite a lot of empty rooms, I will clean them up later.”
Zhou Weiwei was silent for a while, then asked cautiously, “My mom and I will stay there for the night, won’t we cause trouble to Jiujiu?”
In the end, she is still afraid of her Jiujiu from the bottom of her heart, especially the current Jiujiu. After losing weight, he becomes more and more fierce, and there is still something violent in his eyes when he looks over. She is afraid of making him angry. If anything happens, then…… really don’t know what to do.
Huang Dan said no, “Don’t worry.”
Zhou Weiwei breathed a sigh of relief, “My mom called me again, that’s all, I won’t bother you, see you tomorrow.”
Putting down the phone, Huang Dan tapped his fingers on the table a few times. He sat on the sofa for a while, then got up and went upstairs, pushing the door open and going in.
The curtains in the bedroom were closed, the bedside lamp was turned on, and the warm yellow light enveloped the area. The faint halo just enclosed the man on the bed.
As soon as Huang Dan entered, the man woke up. He pursed his lips, feeling helpless at the other person’s alertness.
Nie Wenyuan patted the place beside him, “Come here.”
Huang Dan closed the door with his backhand, took off his coat and went to bed. He opened the quilt and lay in the man’s arms. There was a faint medicinal smell on his nose. He was used to it for more than a year. As soon as he was about to say something, he immediately sat up.
Nie Wenyuan was taken aback by the young man’s reaction, “What?”
Huang Dan kisses the sickly stained thin lips of the man, and the tip of his tongue stuck in, “You smoke.”
Nie Wenyuan’s forehead twitched, his eyes were half closed, and he hooked the bit of tongue that ran in, “No.”
Huang Dan said, “Smoked.”
Nie Wenyuan licked the young man’s moist lips and made a vague sound in his throat, “Just two or three puffs to satisfy my cravings”
Huang Dan withdrew, kissed again, and said firmly and seriously, “At least half of it.”
Nie Wenyuan,“……”
He held his forehead, found a lover whose sense of smell was better than that of a puppy.
Huang Dan’s sense of pain is different from ordinary people, his sense of smell is normal, but he is more sensitive to the smell of smoke, especially the smell of smoke coming from this man’s breath. He found the half cigarette in the bedside table and rubbed it between his fingers. It was cold and it must have been hidden for a while. “When did you smoke it?”
Nie Wenyuan pinched the young man’s chin and pressed his lips to his, “After you went out.”
Huang Dan pushed the man away with moderate force. He found a lighter, lit the cigarette while standing by the bed, and took a puff like the man.
In the real world, Huang Dan doesn’t smoke or drink. His life is monotonous and rigorous. He has never indulged, nor does he want to.
When he was in high school, the boys in his class would lean against their desks with a cigarette in their mouths and strike a pose that they thought looked cool, or they would squat in the corridor with their legs spread apart, smoking and teasing the passing female classmates. Occasionally they would smile coolly, feeling that they are great, and the representative among them was that ruffian.
Huang Dan passed by the corridor many times, and always saw the ruffian taking the lead, leading a group of boys to squat there with their legs apart and puffing away smoke. Whenever he passed by, the ruffian would whistle in a nonchalant manner, which was very loud and echoed.
Others would laugh and call him Young Master.
It’s strange to say that in Huang Dan’s memory bank, fragments about his freshman year of high school surfaced for no reason.
Huang Dan remembered a little bit of the ruffian’s profile. He was tall, with very short hair, thick and long. He wore a silver earring on one ear. He was either holding a cigarette in his mouth or holding a cigarette between his fingers. He leaned on the railing and blew in the wind. His face was full of melancholy, and when he turned his head, he put on a smile that deserved a beating.
The teeth were very white.
Huang Dan remembered that when he fell down in the toilet, the ruffian rushed over to him and served as a cushion. He raised his head, and the ruffian smiled at him, showing his white teeth, which were very neat, which reminded him of some kind of canine animal.
He didn’t remember it before, but Huang Dan only remembered it some time ago. Apart from him, the ruffian was the one who received more love letters in the class. His old classmates told him about this.
Every time he and the ruffian were brought out by everyone, they would judge who was the class president or the school president. In the end, the title would fall on his head, which was inexplicable.
Huang Dan thought to himself that when the ruffian confessed to him and rejected, he swung his fist in his(HD) face, but grazed his(HD) hair and hit the wall. Then he squatted at his feet and cried loudly. He was probably very confident, thinking that he(HD) would definitely agree, which hurts his self-esteem.
As for cigarettes, Huang Dan coughed and asked the housekeeper. The housekeeper bought him relevant books the next day. After he learned about it, he didn’t want to touch it, neither of them was good things.
Listening to the young man coughing, Nie Wenyuan’s eyes darkened and he said seriously, “Why are you smoking? Give it to me.”
Huang Dan squinted his eyes and looked at him, “Let me see what’s good about smoking.”
Nie Wenyuan sat up and looked directly at the young man. The temperature inside was scorching. He said in a low voice, “Without you, cigarettes are the best. With you, they are dispensable.”
Huang Dan said, “Dispensable? If I ask you to quit smoking, you will never be able to quit.” In the previous worlds, he never succeeded. The best time was to smoke one cigarette a week, but still had to smoke, as if the smell of cigarettes had penetrated into his bones.
Nie Wenyuan smiled bitterly, “Cigarette has been with Jiujiu for decades, but you have only been with Jiujiu for more than a year. Take it easy, it is not your opponent.”
Huang Dan pinched the cigarette and threw it into the trash, “The doctor said, you have to forbid smoking and alcohol.”
He pulled up the quilt on the man and said, “Jiujiu, how many years do you want to stay with me, ten years, or decades? If it’s a few years, I won’t care about you.”
Nie Wenyuan rubbed his forehead. He felt uncomfortable hearing these words, and his weak spots were squeezed tightly. “Xiao Yu, you have to understand that Jiujiu has been exposed to smoking for a long time. The addiction to smoking is too great and cannot be quit in a short time.”
Huang Dan looked at the man and said nothing.
Nie Wenyuan was a little bit conceited by him, so he compromised and said, “Let’s do this. When Jiujiu wants to smoke, he will inform you and apply for it.”
Huang Dan said, “Okay.”
Nie Wenyuan pulled the young man towards him, held the back of his head and kissed him. The smell of smoke and medicine were mixed together, the corners of their mouths were wet with saliva, and both of them breathed heavily.
Huang Dan took a deep breath, put his hands on both sides of the man’s chest, sat on his body and bowed his head and said, “Can’t do it.”
Nie Wenyuan supported the young man’s waist and pressed his forehead against him, “Can do, I can only touch you three times a week now.”
The second half of the sentence is filled with desire and dissatisfaction.
Huang Dan was also hard, and he shamelessly asked Mr. Lu for another chrysanthemum spirit, plus the three in the fly cabinet, which was enough to do once.
He has a special physique, and the amount of chrysanthemum spirit required to do it once is more than what others need to do several times, which is a loss.
System, “Twice.”
Huang Dan said, “I can’t help it either, thank you.”
System said, “Good news, you have signed up for Chrysanthemum Spirit Company’s anniversary event.”
Huang Dan thought, great. Because he was too excited, he accidentally said those three words, just when Nie Wenyuan said he wanted to do it with him.
“……”
Nie Wenyuan didn’t get up. He was lying down, holding the young man’s waist with his broad, rough palms. His brows were slightly furrowed, his face was calm, but his breath was thick and heavy.
Huang Dan hooked the man’s neck, kissed his temples that had turned white due to illness, kissed his dull cheeks that had become thinner due to illness, and kissed the vicissitudes left by the years between his brows, “If you can’t, tell me, I’ll do it instead “
Nie Wenyuan’s eyes were deep, “You’ll?”
Huang Dan was reluctant, he doesn’t like physical labor, but the situation forced him to do so, he said, “Well, I’ll do it.”
The corners of Nie Wenyuan’s lips curled lazily, “Okay, then you do.”
Huang Dan blinked, suddenly he was at a loss, he didn’t know how to take the next step, he thought about it for a while, first touched the man’s hard chest, and then waist.
Nie Wenyuan’s flesh was itchy after being scratched, his chest vibrated, and he laughed muffledly, “Are you tickling?”
Huang Dan sighed, “You should do it, I won’t.”
Nie Wenyuan never thought of letting the young man do it. Hearing this, he didn’t say anything and just did it.
After finishing, Huang Dan changed the sheets stained with dirt and tears. He went to wash his face and looked at the man with two red eyes, “Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?”
Nie Wenyuan said, “I should ask you this.”
Huang Dan said he just had a sore back, “Weiwei and aunt will come over tomorrow.”
Nie Wenyuan knew that since the young man mentioned this to him, it meant he had agreed. He hummed, put on his coat and walked to the door, “You lie down while I make dinner.”
Huang Dan took out the plum blossoms from his pocket and put them in the book written by the man. He put the book back where it belonged and quickly chased after him.
Huang Dan was awakened by a cough at night. It was like a switch was installed in his brain. He got up, poured water, took medicine, wetted a towel and wiped the cold sweat from the man’s forehead. A series of actions were completed in a short time.
Nie Wenyuan took the medicine and felt relieved. His lips were pale white. He was a selfish person and there has never been such a strong awareness of this.
Knowing that he is old, contracted by a disease, and his life hangs on a knife’s edge, he doesn’t know when the knife will fall, but he insists on dragging a young man who is still young and has a lot of time to spend, to death, holding on and never letting go.
The scar on Huang Dan’s head was kissed, and he patted the man’s back, “Go to sleep.”
Those who spoke fell asleep, but those who listened did not.
Nie Wenyuan sighed in the darkness and took the young man into his arms. He smelled the clean smell on his body and felt that his entire chest was full.
The next morning, the doctor came to give Nie Wenyuan acupuncture treatment as usual.
Huang Dan watched from the side, seeing long and thin needles piercing the man’s legs, body, and hands. He felt that he had a tendency to self-abuse. He knew that it was uncomfortable to watch, but he was still stuck in place.
When the doctor left, he gave some instructions to Huang Dan, “It’s cold, don’t let the director go out, if he gets infected with the cold it will be very troublesome.”
Huang Dan said, “Understood.”
The doctor coughed, “If you can’t abstain from sex, don’t indulge in it. Health is the capital of revolution. Without health, everything is in vain.”
Huang Dan said seriously, “I understand.”
The doctor patted the young man on the shoulder, refusing to let him see him off, “You can stay with the director, he can’t see you and is anxious.”
Huang Dan stopped and waved to the doctor, “Walk slowly.”
When the doctor walked into the yard, he subconsciously turned his head back, moved his eyes up, and met the man standing by the window. Even though there was a distance, he knew the expression on the other person’s face. The man was afraid that the young man would fall and knock somewhere, wishing he could be imprisoned under his eyes forever.
There’s nothing terrible about being homosexual. It’s just that the person you like happens to be of the same sex.
The doctor thought as he walked, that society has been progressing, and one day in the future, people’s minds will be open, and the acceptance of same-sex will definitely change dramatically. Maybe homosexuals can also get married, be blessed, and be recognized.
When Nie Xiuqin and Zhou Weiwei came over, Huang Dan had just finished boiling a pot of water and was busy preparing ingredients for lunch in the kitchen. He heard a knock on the door and asked who it was. He opened the door when he heard the answer.
This place is remote, Huang Dan has to consider his and Nie Wenyuan’s safety, and strangers are not welcome.
Nie Xiuqin looks much younger. Her daughter’s condition has improved, and her heart has calmed down. With her daughter by her side, her life will be better than before.
Zhou Weiwei exuded youthful vitality, and her frowns and smile were charming. She took off the backpack from her shoulders and took out the persimmon from it while muttering, “I don’t know if it’s rotten or not.”
Huang Dan likes this girl. Unfortunately, after experiencing that kind of thing, her spirit was stimulated, leaving a heavy psychological shadow, but she can still come out and live such a positive life. It’s great.
“If it’s rotten, pick it out and eat it first.”
Zhou Weiwei checked them one by one. She raised a smile and said, “Everything is good.”
Nie Xiuqin stood at the door and looked inside, but she didn’t move.
Zhou Weiwei ran over to pick up the snakeskin bag from her mother, “Mom, why are you in a daze?”
Nie Xiuqin sighed softly, “It’s strange. Every time Mom comes to your Jiujiu’s house, it feels different from the last time.”
Zhou Weiwei said, “The seasons are different. Last time we came it was spring and the flowers in the yard were blooming beautifully. This time it is winter and it is full of snow.”
Nie Xiuqin thought about it too. She carried the snakeskin bag and plastic bucket into the kitchen, and was busy taking out the taro and eggs inside.
Zhou Weiwei looked up upstairs, “Xiao Yu, where’s Jiujiu?”
Huang Dan said, “After taking the medicine, he lay down.”
Zhou Weiwei stuck out her tongue, “Then I won’t go up. I’ll help you mop the floor.”
Huang Dan didn’t let her mop the floor, but found her a book.
Lunch was made by Nie Xiuqin, and Huang Dan put his hand down and watched her put the chicken into the pot and throw a few slices of ginger, and put a few wolfberries in it and stewed it. He tasted the soup, and it was delicious. He said, “Auntie, I put the same things as you, but the soup that came out didn’t taste good and tasteless.”
Nie Xiuqin wiped off the water stains on the stove with a rag, “This stewed chicken soup doesn’t require any complicated skills. Did you put in too much water and it didn’t cook well?”
Huang Dan was stunned. He put it into the pot and said, “Auntie, how much water needed to be put in?”
Nie Xiuqin said, “You only need this much water for a chicken. When you reheat it, don’t add too much water, otherwise the taste will be bad.”
Huang Dan thought it might be due to the amount of water, so he asked seriously, “How much?”
Nie Xiuqin pointed to the pot, “That’s all.”
Huang Dan,“……”
When Nie Xiuqin went to do other things, Huang Dan secretly poured out the water from the pot, put it in a soup bowl, recorded the amount of water, and poured it back.
When he did this, the expression on his face was very serious. He couldn’t allow himself to make a mistake.
Zhou Weiwei outside the door took everything in her eyes. She was stunned and quickly hid before the young man turned around.
Nie Wenyuan had just woken up and sat on the bedside when he heard the knocking sound, “Come in.”
Zhou Weiwei pushed the door open and went in, walked to the bed lightly, she squatted down, took the man’s hand on the quilt, “Jiujiu, Xiao Yu really loves you.”
Nie Wenyuan took his hand away and said, “Yeah.”
Zhou Weiwei wasn’t sad either, she just has a sore nose. Seeing the man who is less than 40 years old and is in the prime of life, but has so many gray hairs. Her eyes gradually became wet, “I originally thought that if Xiao Yu treated you badly, I would take you away. My mom and I would be here to take good care of you.”
As she spoke, her voice softened, very softly, as if she was talking to herself, “He won’t give me a chance, I know.”
Nie Wenyuan wanted to smoke a cigarette, but resisted, “Weiwei.”
There was a warning in those words, even if there were traces of illness and pain on the brows, it still made people fearful.
Zhou Weiwei looked up at the man as she did in the past, “Jiujiu, are you living a happy life?”
Nie Wenyuan said, “I am very happy.”
Zhou Weiwei burst into tears, “That’s good.”
At night, Huang Dan was called to stop by Zhou Weiwei, and the two drank tea on the balcony and watched the snow.
Zhou Weiwei put a piece of peanut candy into her mouth. She said abruptly, “Xiao Yu, I took 10,000 yuan.”
“I originally wanted to take the stolen items and let my Jiujiu drive you away. I didn’t like you, Xiao Yu. I really didn’t like you at that time. You could come in and out of Jiujiu’s bedroom and study at will. It was so abnormal.”
Huang Dan already knew, Nie Wenyuan told him, “Why didn’t you do that?”
Zhou Weiwei lowered her eyelids, “Yeah, why……”
At that time, she wasn’t always crazy. There were also times when she was sober. Her BiaoDi didn’t have bad intentions towards her, she could feel it.
Later Zhou Weiwei discovered a secret, and all the abnormalities were explained.
She suddenly didn’t know what to do.
Huang Dan asked, “Jiujiu found out about this and let you go?”
Zhou Weiwei nodded.
Huang Dan stopped talking and watched the snow scene with her.
It wasn’t until Nie Xiuqin came out to call her daughter to sleep that the tranquility was broken.
Huang Dan touched the girl’s soft hair, “You will get better and better.”
Zhou Weiwei hummed, her eyes turned red.
Huang Dan wished good night to Zhou Weiwei and went upstairs. He took a hot shower and went to bed, with his head resting on the man’s arm, feeling that his life was complete.
Nie Wenyuan rubbed the young man’s earlobe and said, “Let’s talk to Jiujiu for a while.”
Huang Dan snorted, “Speak what?”
Nie Wenyuan said, “Do you think it’s boring to live here with Jiujiu?”
Huang Dan’s eyelids were glued together, and it immediately separated after hearing the words. He touched the man’s arms with no strength, “No.”
Nie Wenyuan said, “You’re still young, and it’s time for fun, but you stay with Jiujiu all day and all night, it’s hard for you.”
Huang Dan stood up from the man’s arms and said, “Nie Wenyuan, don’t use official tactics on me. You don’t need to test me.”
Nie Wenyuan said, “It’s not a test, it’s guilt. Jiujiu wants to give you the best.”
Huang Dan looked at the man for a while, then retracted into his arms, grabbed one of his arms and put it on his waist, “I have the best, don’t think about it like an old man, it’s not good.”
Nie Wenyuan kissed his cheek, “Good night.”
In the morning, Huang Dan and Nie Wenyuan were woken up by Nie Xiuqin. She baked pancakes, cooked eight-treasure porridge, and cut home-pickled salted duck eggs.
Nie Wenyuan could see that the young man was in a good mood. There was gossip on the face when talking. There are more people, so there are more topics. In the end, it is better than talking to him as an old man all day long, but he still won’t let the other person go.
It’s impossible in this life
In the next life…it’s also impossible.
The last time Zhou Weiwei saw her Jiujiu and Chen Yu was at Grandma Wu’s tribute ceremony.
Grandma Wu passed away peacefully, without any torture or suffering.
Not many people came.
When they saw Nie Wenyuan and his little nephew, they had different expressions. No matter what they thought in their hearts, they had done a good job of saving face, and they could be as polite as they wanted.
Zhou Weiwei ran up from afar, leaving the young man who was looking at her behind
Huang Dan knew something about Nie Youxiang from Nie Xiuqin. She was afraid that people in the village would gossip, so she left the village and didn’t know where she went. Maybe she went to find her eldest son.
Chen Fei is not dead, this is what Nie Wenyuan told Huang Dan, but didn’t say which city he was in or what he was doing. Maybe he was still as proud and arrogant as before, or maybe he was down-to-earth and learned to be grateful, and treat life with a gentle and kind heart.
Huang Dan told Zhou Weiwei that day that he and Nie Wenyuan would go out for a trip and take whatever they needed. When they were tired, they would stop and rest before moving forward.
After Zhou Weiwei heard this, she looked at her Jiujiu. He had his head lowered, his hands in his coat pockets, and he was looking at the person around him without saying a word. His eyes were gentle and focused, and he didn’t pay attention to other people and things at all.
She suddenly smiled, “You guys are going on a trip, it’s good.”
Huang Dan greeted Zhou Weiwei, “Goodbye.”
Zhou Weiwei waved her hand, “Goodbye.”
They said goodbye, but in fact they all knew that, as the world is vast, they might never see each other again in this life.
Zhou Weiwei looked at the two figures fading away, the corners of her lips pulled up, and tears shining in her eyes.
Two people who truly love each other will live happily wherever they go.

Another great arc with a bittersweet ending. Went to read the following chapter to see how they passed away, at least they died together, which is not as gut-wrenching painful as the two previous arcs. I’m excited for the next world hehe
